G'day freightcar2,
Did you not download the accompanying image file that shows where to locate the HOG texture files? If you''re running TRS 2004, these files must be located in your %Trainz%/World/Custom/Ground folder (if this folder does not exist, create it adn then extract the *.zip file to that klocation). If you are using TRS 2006, the *.zip must be installed using CMP in the usual manner...

For TRS2006, is there a HOG .cdp file? I don't recall seeing it in the folder. :o

Hi I can help you install Hog textures. It is a complicated, but common sence procedure. Let me know when you are ready for instructions.

Crickey.
installing HOG textures in TRS06 or later is as easy as going to this thread (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=27597&highlight=fishlips) and scrolling down to the 7th post.
On the off-chance that you are using TRS04, folow Jerkers instructions and create a folder in your trs04\world\custom folder called 'ground' and drag and drop the unzipped HOG folders into it...

G'day freightcar2,
I was going to quote the HOG manual (which you would have obtained had you downloaded the program as well as the texture files - although it isn't needed if you aren't creating the routes yourself)...
...but in looking at the text, I realised it didn't say a word about the colours used. The so-called TIGER data used by HOG utilizes only seven colours to depict the various lines. The most important of these is the Cyan (or Light Blue), which represents the railway lines. The red and Oranges represent the Roads and the Blues represent the waterways. You can find out exactly which is which by visiting the US Bureau of Statistics website (perform a "Google Search" on 'TIGER Data')...

I can't find the website, nor can I find any information on what data which texture represents.:confused::confused:

If you google 'tiger data' as Jerker suggests the USBS website is the first on the page. Anyway Jerker's summary tells you pretty much all you need to know....
