I really like this scene, but can I suggest that if the approach road to the crossing is that steep then you need "risk of grounding" signs, or to make it less steep?
Otherwise, this is what mere humans aspire to be able to create.

Not as such, but you can still number them like that, as long as you don't mind a gap between the first number and the last 3 for example
a 31 would be 5 821 for example
a 37 would be 6 988 for example
a 47 would be 1 748 for example

I'm afraid I won't be releasing the Pullman Mk.2's this evening, because my village has suffered two power cuts within the last hour or so, and on both occasions I was busy finishing the coaches when all the power went off! http://forum.uktrainz.co.uk/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif
I'm not sure if I'll risk it again until the assumed electrical fault has been fixed. Hopefully it'll be rectified tonight so that everything is okay for tomorrow........if I lived near the WCML I'd have probably found the cause by now......people who do live near it can't even risk boiling the kettle if a 92 is on it's way ;) :hehe:

You do realise you will have to go a VERY long way to beat eldavos from what I have seen and read. The toys list is beyond all anyone has ever dreamt of. Sorry to put the downer on it in this way but my 92's will be bought from eldavo's. It does look a VERY nice model but my order is placed. 46 shiny new Class 92's:)

Don't be sorry:) that's your opinion and i will take that onboard. I can see where you are coming from with eldavos but I have been working on this on and off for a very long time trying to get it to look like it should. Just recently got it to look anything like it so i thought i would post. But as it happens eldavo has almost finished his.

If I may put forward a suggestion, although your Dyson looks promosing already, may I point out that there are many other units and locos to be done? Oh, not forgetting your unreleased stuff (I say that, because I am trying to stop you becomming another me.).
Anyway, I think your time is best spent NOT duplicating stuff (yes, I guess you aren't happy with some creators models, but thats a different thing), but try creating new stuff or making something thats upto modern standards.
One example is the Class 101, at the moment, I could do with some 101 trailer cars that I cannot make (lack of time due to creating the Class 151 DMU), that are passenger compliant. Your time would be better spent making that than other stuff, but thats my comments.

I agree with WEN. Instead of trying to build a model that has already been built, try making something which there is demand for. Your new 66's are going to be a welcome release especially, so try and get them released first. Then maybe a new class 25 would be a good idea. I know that alot of people would like to see one of those =).
I don't mean to put you down here, because your Gmax work has come on leaps and bounds since your first attempts, again, your class 66 being a prime example, but with the 58 and 92, you do seem to be following Eldavo's lead, as you will know, he has already created and released a perfectly good class 58, and a 92 is imminent. Just my words of thought...
Cheers

Yeh RJL, there are many things that need making full stop or replacing. My 60 and the 158 and 175 all replace a model that is out of date or fill a gap and that is the arrangement that I intend to try and keep to.

Arent there already two versions of the class 66 available? And theres already a class 60 already available so Great Eastern should stop work on his immediately. Or we could just let people build what they like, crazy idea I know but there you go.
Louise_T

II think LMS man was using a bit of biting sarcasm actually... :p
Personally, I think it's up to the creator to decide what they make, but it's also quite understandable if those of us less talented groan a little inwardly when there's a third version of the class 66 (for instance) in production, and several useful classes (especially multiple units) unrepresented. It's also pretty tough making another version of a loco that has been built by the likes of Eldavo, as there are bound to be comparisons made. However, several creators have come out with frankly jaw-dropping first locos (e.g. LieLestosBrat's MN), so no-one should be discouraged from trying...
Oh, and as it's actually a screenshots thread...

That's coming on nicely rjl! I don't think anyone was doubting the quality of your work, just that your choice of prototype is bound to raise comparisons with Eldavo's. Go for it I say! I look forward to seeing a good freeware 58 and 92 so I can include them in uploaded sessions...

Don't you dare you call me selfish when you've never even met me, I gave you my opinion and advice I am not 'against you' per se. If you wish to go on despite what I said that is your choice and I'll happily respect you but you have no right to throw personal accusations around at people you haven't met and don't know. If you knew me you might know that being selfish is something I do my very best to avoid being.

OUCH!! Calm down RJ! Firstly, I tried to be mild in my suggestion, in reality, there is no point to build A) something that is already done, you'll know what I mean after some experience and B) do something and move onto something else half way through (as per me). But this is my personal belief and experience.
I am talking from experience here, yes, some locos you create are extremely easy to create and can be done in a lessor timeframe than it takes me to make a "super bubble", but in the end, we do it because we enjoy doing so. Arguably, we should be free to produce what we want but some do have a huge influence of what we should produce.
I still get to this very day that the 117 needs updating, it needs passengers and other variations. Or we need more first gen DMUs. Or something simliar. Yes, that is partially true, we also need a lot of second generation DMUs, but who is going to produce them and for how long?
Sometimes, demand is greater than supply and supply can be short, so someone has to give in somewhere.
(Oh, there are many items I have been asked to create, but due to the list mounting and the work flowing, I have had to refuse. The A-Train was a good example of something I couldn't create, the 442 with a pantograph is another and I have had other requests. Basically, everyone and anyone wants everything and everything. I hope I made sense in this forum message).
RJ, its best to sit and think things through. I do understand about your situation and reply, being a content creator can be agonising and fustrating but I have had 6 years of it, just ask Louise_T and Electra! :P
EDIT:
By the way RJL, you may want to note that human selfishness is a fault by design, but also a strength in some respects. If we didn't have some sort of selfishness in society, some areas wouldn't of succeeded as much as they have now, the Personal Computer would be one, railways another. Quite simply, because people want to make money, if you want to make as much money as possible, isn't that selfish itself?

RJL, GE and anyone else listing, I am not a mod, I cannot comment on the modding situation either, firstly RJL, please, take a deep breath and think for a minute.
We are all under the same stress, I've have/had 4 assigments due in this week, I have another that is due back for summative feedback (Second attempt) and I am fretting about not getting a Distinction criteria, added to that, theres something I can't talk about, something for a commercial product (NOT for any version of Trainz by the way!), that maybe included and that has to be in soon, oh and the usual of sitting life out as a single man, everyone else wants everything from me, a computer out of use and I have not found the time to reformat it, etc, etc. Not forgetting a few problems that come and go.
The fact is, stressed out 14 year olds need to do something that does calm them down. If producing and being isolated from the net helps, do, if doing something else helps, do it. Whatever it is, as much as I hate to say it, comming in here and creating that outburst is a sure way to get banned. I've been there and I have had to serve a one month ban.
(Yes, I know you are going to say "I don't care", but you soon do after the second day and try and get it revoked.)

Your comment about selfishness seemed directed at anyone who posted anything about the whole topic so yes I did take it personally without being against you.
I was not being offensive, I was merely standing up for myself against a comment that was simply unfair, at the time I did not happen to know you were 14 such is the nature of online forums. However, if you make accusations like you did then you have to be able to cope with receiving the same sort of comment back. I would have responded the same no matter your age (as in fact I did, not being aware of it at the time) so now you telling me to shut up and leave you alone is a further personal insult which I don't appreciate.
I did my GCSEs, ASs and A2s I know they're stressful and if this helps you relieve your stress then that is great. From my personal experience I would advise against getting so het up in the first year of your GCSEs (which you are judging by your age), that's not patronising, its honest heart felt advice which I hope you can benefit from, none of this stuff is worth getting so het up about.
Anyhow I think we've all had our two penny's worth now and I hope we can accept that some posts have been offensive to some people, whether or not that was the original intention.

Hi DrPhlox,
Three Jubilees carried apple green & yes youre right, it was experimental. The other two were 45604 & 45694.
5573's livery was also experimental & also carried by 6234 Duchess of Abercorn. The colour is a best guess as no colour photos are known to exist.
5573 & 6234 took part in a sort of beauty contest at Euston in 1946 along with 5594(only loco to be painted red by the LMS after WW2) & some locos Ive not yet found about in simplified express black(no boiler or firebox lining).Express black was chosen.
HTH :-)
The Duchesses are about a dozen pieces of valvegear & some tidying up from being finished.I just cant bring myself to finish them yet.Ive got a mental block.Maybe I'll do some tomorrow.
Btw, theres actually a colour photograph of 5594 in the LMS special railway magazine thats just been on sale.
I'm also planning to do 5552 Silver Jubilee with the black & chrome livery, still a WIP.

I should explain that I intend to release this modern day version of the GCR so therefore have tried to use as much built in content as possible so that download time may be cut down, its a choice between high accuracy and quick downloads, I will be doing a more detailed version in the future for those who would rather have that. The bonus of the built in items is that the route is not a computer killer.

Unfortunately, we can't send you any Mk1s. Firstly, there are loads and we don't know which ones you mean. Secondly, unless we built them (that does apply in some cases) they aren't ours to redistribute. Thirdly, it is possible you're referring to the payware ones by Railwaves, so sending is an even bigger nono than before. Sorry.
There is a reasonable selection available, depending on what you're looking for though. Try the DLS first - Magandy's reskins of the Auran model are still passible (if you squint a bit) and there are better shaped ones (but with solid windows and no interior) by SDark (builtin to TRS06).
I too support the new 101 - Pikka's model is old, so features the PM mesh which deforms at stratigic but annoying points, and has a rather simplistic interior. It used to be good, but it's like comparing Windows 95 with Windows XP when it runs with the modern stock. That said, I'd support a new range of 1st-gen DMUs, because there are only older models available (though I do know of some in development - perhaps before building more you should discuss with WEN and Rumour3). :D
Also liking the new (2nd Gen) 156 - are we allowed a Regional Railways version, or is that considered defacing the unit? ;)

Hi all,
I've been running some stuff around Angelah's latest route, to get a feel for it. There's a bit of an eclectic mix of stock, but that aside, here are the pics:
http://lh5.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rz9kz77yPkI/AAAAAAAAA-s/xEfCe0o3sMQ/s800/141%20%281%29.JPG
WEN's 141 rests in the station, with a train of conflats in the road to the rear of the shot and a view down the hill visible through the trees.
http://lh4.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rz9k0r7yPlI/AAAAAAAAA-0/_ElxhgC8rcI/s800/141%20%282%29.JPG
I took this especially to remind people what Pikka's 101 looks like - it would benefit from a facelift, but it isn't actually poor by anyone's imagination. WEN's 141 in the foreground again. The main trouble is that the PM meshes collapse when the computer is forced to work hard, so I had to run past a couple of times to take this shot - in the end I took it from higher up and slightly to the side of where I wanted to be.
http://lh6.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rz9k1L7yPmI/AAAAAAAAA-8/k3crN_ldWag/s800/26%200%20%281%29.JPG
Waiting for the signal is a 26 with a short train of empties.
http://lh3.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rz9k1b7yPnI/AAAAAAAAA_E/knvvhTKmuBI/s800/141%20%283%29.JPG
The 141 passes the coal empties.

claggy 141
http://lh4.google.co.uk/bidmod/Rz9lBr7yPpI/AAAAAAAAA_U/zcs2XDdoO1Q/s800/pointwork.JPG
I'm really impressed with the scenic detail of this route, but I think the trackwork and signalling could do with a little touching up in a few places. I shudder to think what this does to the flanges on long-wheelbase stock!
When I have more time, I think I'll personalise this layout a bit, but that would be for myself rather than public release.

The window frames on the front as the steel frames make them look larger than they actually are. And for the logo it does look too high though.

I agree with lewisner, & 3830, except 3830 their is NO need to quote pictures 100% of the time. If a picture is on another page, just use it's URL address, instead of the showing the picture - makes it harder for pages to load on dial up, especially if new pictures are added & then quoted.
If I use show pictures, I always put "No quoting of pictures permitted", or similar wording. I would like to see the admins make this a rule, that pictures are not to be quoted.
