I agree 46035, if they could embed them into the body rather than just bolting them on as they are gunna do but I suppose it don't look TOO bad I suppose :'(
I doubt that DRS will actually do that, considering the lighting system on 86's are fine as they are (then again, the 37's that received WIPAC's had perfectly good lighting to begin with).....hmmm, we'll have to wait and see

The word from someone in the know is, all refurbished DRS locos are now to receive the WIPACs as standard - including the 86s.

How do you get your screenshots so crisp? Theyre superb

Just to demonstrate how poor my skinning ability is, it's supposed to be Bauxite livery.... Although as far as anyone else is concerned it's just rust..... :(

Thanks Gary,
Getting them crisp is a bit of a trick, well previously I had saved my images through paint, but now I use PSP, which saves them better quality complete with the added sharpness,I think it's better, as it shows the detail a lot more which would otherwise be just blotchy!:o
Thanks for the info about the NCC steal locos, I will pass on the message to others. I know it's unlikely we'll see any such locos in Trainz, but do you plan anything in the future with KRS?:D

Thanks, it's based on Windermere. Possibly similar to Buxton, the station was LNWR rebuilt as a holiday destination for the Lake District - although literally everything at Windermere is now quite gone (a single track with a wood shed for passengers at the original throat, with the main station building converted to a supermarket). My effort is based on the 1947 track plan.
Gary, I sincerely hope to see your work in KRS...

Well even here in Britain it's no so easy to run on the mainline with a historic steam train. There's a stringent set of safety criteria, and the locomotives need specialist equipment added that wasn't invented when they were built. They also need to be able to maintain a high speed, to ensure they don't hold up regular service trains. Also, the safety requirements on the engines are stricter than on the same type of loco running on a preserved line. Oh, and the Renfe engine pictured would probably be out of gauge (ie wouldn't fit under all the bridges).
I couldn't tell you all of the ins and outs of the system, but there are people on this forum who might tell you more in another thread if you ask nicely.
Does this mean that there are no special services at all in Spain?

the track is Bloodnok's and only comes in single track variants (brown or gray ballast, wood or concrete sleepers, clean or stained, std(normal 2 rail) 3rd/4th rail, sunken or normal ballasted sleepers or overgrown with 4(yes that's right, 4!) different lengths - 2m, 4m, 8m or 16m for all variants.

"Linesignal" thanks for your kind comments.I"ve been working on this route for 3 years now, and seen it more or less destroyed 3 times so it"ll probably never be finished! Also I didn"t use TransDem when I started it so the heights aren"t right and its not suitable to join to another route such as the ECML. I COULD burn it to a DVD but I"ve altered the configs of many of the signals and I don"t know how to get them onto a DVD.Plus, when I burnt another route to a DVD I was told they couldn"t open it because it hadn"t been "Tagged" whatever that is! Interesting to hear about your dad"s trainspotting - I wonder what he thinks of the miserable acres of weeds and burnt out cars which Penshaw is now?......:'(

Surely, the fact that RJL's posted a screenshot in here gives you a clue about which simulators he intends to release it for...
As for it's appearance, it looks more than good - it looks like a perfect representation of the revised group standard head/tail light fitted version of it's class.

Is there?! Do enlighten me as to where these screenshots have been posted as I've only seen TRS ones in here.
And who was being sarcastic? I was merely pointing out that as RJL had posted a screenshot of the 66 in here, he might have given second thoughts to releasing it for KRS only.
One more thing, unless you know what someone's 'mindset' is when they make a comment, it might not be a good idea to prejudge what it is - i.e. don't accuse someone of posting sarcastic comments unless you know they're meant that way...

Fireweed or rosebay willowherb! Ho Ho when my wife and I set up our first home, gardening was not one of our strong points. We planted some tubs up and waited with baited breath for something to emerge and grow. Only one flipping plant appeared. Undaunted we tended and watered it until one day when my Mother and Father visited. We were so proud of our plant that we showed Mum it to see if she knew what it was!
And yes it was a flipping rosebay willowherb!

WIP ;) (as with the Great Briton set, there is a full rake and each coach has an inidividual name, and I will be releasing all of them.....may also be re-doing the Great Briton stock with higher quality textures, and re-textured ends as with some of my more recent ones) :)
In other news, 37610 has been released from BRUSH today sporting DRS's "new" colour scheme (with "compass" style logos).....37423 may also emerge from BRUSH in the same style, so I've got my paint brush on stand by for that ;)

Most are using TRS 04 or 06
UTC is many years old now, I would suggest you update
Most would say TRS 04 is better than 06, as there are a few things wrong with certain parts of 06
However, you should be able to find 04 or 06 quite cheaply, I think my 06 cost me £10

Boy Hennah I have a pal who works on the platform at York station and he showed me a photo of the new NEEC livery on his mobile.Initially they will just have different namebadges on their uniforms. The whole franchising system is insanity.
Rail Express published an artist's impression of what they thought the livery would look like - I'm told they've designed a completely new colour scheme to use right across the company.
Franchising isn't the problem, as such. The Chiltern one is an example that the system can work, if put together in the right way. But there's a perception among Treasury and DfT staff that franchising's a cash cow to be milked for all it's worth. Ultimately, it's not the TOCs who are paying the premiums that the Treasury/DfT Rail are demanding - it's the passenger, through much higher fares. That said, I have heard rumblings that some of the more recent franchise winners are talking about going back on the fares increases they've had imposed on them by DfT Rail (3.4% above inflation, apparently) as part of their contracts. With the current attitude of DfT Rail, I can seriously see at least 2 more operators handing their 'keys' back - GNER style - in the next 5 years.

Is that a reggie rail 141 coach I see WEN?
@lewisner
the franchises will annoy me, no longer will units terminate at my local N'pton, they will revert to times gone by of Euston- NS. However at least we down here are getting some new trains for me to spot next year!

The last batch of reskins that I did (which I released on the forum via Z-share link) are still not on the DLS, as I can't be arsed to package them up! I'll try to get them packaged them tomorrow, for those who are still waiting for them to appear on the DLS, but in the meantime I may release one of the above ones tomorrow, via Z-share link in the release section.
For those who are wondering, the above ones are a dirty unbranded Railtrack mk.2 test train coach, an ex-works branded Intercity mk.2 TSO and a WCRC "green train" mk2 TSO :)
The sky in the fifth screenie (the one with 31454 in) is one of several new UK skies that I'm working on (there will be a thread about them later) :D

That wasn't an insult. It simply reflects the way Alastair's TRS alter ego drives a lot of the time. I think Alastair would've seen the funny side of that screenshot, personally.

Alastair is the name of one of the badly-drawn virtual drivers which can be found under the driver's names in TRS.....that's what he was refering to, I believe.

FWIW its worth the Alistair who leant his image to this driver did get quite upset about some of the comments made sometimes.
