I wonder why anyone would call the PKP's electrics "dregs." Just like any engine, if they're not properly cared for, they get dirty and break down. And some of the PKP's older electrics, like the EU06 and EU07, were actually based on British designs. Plus, they have the power to pull long, heavy trains. Just because an engine's old and dirty doesn't mean it's inherently bad.

A recent visit to the Ole valley railway. Has shown that the loco works are still working hard on getting the 9f up and running. But until then here are some other locos that have just been turned out by the works.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/fsscr362.jpg
The first is the lines LMS Patriot 5541 Duke of Sutherland seen here pulling the lines mail set.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/fsscr363.jpg
The second is the lines rebuilt Scot 46108 Seaforth highlander which is seen here leaving Templebay on the 10:15 to Gainsborough.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/fsscr367-1.jpg
The final has been purchased from PKP to stand in for the 9f. Unfortantly the shipping of the loco was delayed and she has only just arrived. Here we see Ty42 42-25 pulling the newly restored PKP carriages to Olemouth this is because the loading gauge is to wide for anything beyond Olemouth station.

This isn't an attack on anyone but when you say just for novelty you are going to show some UK rolling stock on here, lewisner has being using that Renfe loco in his screens for quite some time and no one has complained, I remeber somone asking why he uses it but thats it, I could understand if it was a V200 departing Berlin for Dresden because that is nothing to do with the UK, but as lewisner said the foreign engine is on UK rails so therefore constitutes a UK screenshot.

TLBlade
February 2nd, 2008, 05:01 AM
Ye lewisner has posting picks of that horrible RENFE Loco and you didn't seem to mind it but I post a pick of a Ty2 in britian there is already someone arguing.
Why the hell does almost everyone pick fault at anything and everything they can see.

Please note it is my opinion and that the models graphics are great i just don't like the design of the loco in general.

To stop this argument i will remove the pic and i won't post anymore pics of the Ty42 is this thread unless i see anymore of the Renfe loco.
Becuase the reason i posted it was to see what people would say to some one else posting a European loco.

Simple arguement. Simple answer.

TLBlade, your shot does not portray "Britain" in any way. All I can honestly see is a green baseboard with a Polish (?) train on it.

With Lewisners shots, yes the RENFE Conferderation is present, but its hauling UK stock, on what I can tell, is a UK based layout.

Gangsta.

P.S I'm getting back into Trainz now, and I'm hoping to get some shots up soon !

Yeah, well done TLBlade. At least TL has a good imagination, and his trains always have a reason for being pictured. The TY thingy actually looks like it has just come out of the workshops because the cab sides are a different colour to the rest of it (I don't know if the creator intended that!) The Patriots look fantastic and make me want one for my line.

Louise, shame on you for allowing that 142 out in public. It is a disgrace, and the guy who did the destination blind needs to brush up on his spelling...

Padster I would like to bring you up on 2 things the first its a 141 but oh well.

The 2nd thing is to both you and 46035. If I have spelt Morecombe wrong (as I did the destination blinds for the 141 from WEN) then West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive have spelt it wrong because Eric Morcombe who was born in the Town of Morcombe spelt his stage name wrong because the founders of the Town Morcombe spelt it wrong and do you fancy telling everyone who lives there they got the name wrong as defined by this website http://www.morecambe.co.uk/

Fair enough. Morcombe is the old spelling. Why then did you include the 'e' after the 'r'? At least be consistent. If you travel to the town on the M6, it is 'Morecambe', not 'Morcombe' or 'Morecombe' that you see on the signs. I bet if you pick up the local paper that would say Morecambe as well. Speaking as someone who is without doubt the biggest pedant on here (have been called other things rhyming with 'banker' and 'dosser'), I know all about being pedantic. It is nice to see that there are other pedants out there, and that the art of pedantry is still very much alive. Ooh, I do get a kick out of concerning myself with the minutiae of life, and of course, getting right up people's noses.

Random display of pedantry for those unaccustomed to the genre:

The Romans invented the standard railway gauge of 4' 8" because that was the width between the stone blocks in their streets that allowed pedestrians to cross, and carts to pass through.

Here's a screenshot so that I can stay 'on-topic'. A little postcard I picked up from the village shop this morning:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/Padster/PadPic23-1.jpg

And another one:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/Padster/PadPic26.jpg

See, I am not just a pedant, I am a talented pedant!

Padster

I am sorry to say Padstar, even if Boco did edit the post, that is a bit of a personal remark to make towards me. Your behaviour seems to be a little worse recently and TBH, its not nice on the recieveing end. Its another case of one of my models, starting off yet another argument. (I sometimes why I bothered with accuracy or modelling at all.)

Thanks for backing me up, WEN old chap. My remarks were not intended as a slur against your good name, for 'tis true I did not know it was your work. Nay, nay and thrice nay, titter ye not, ooh missus. Please do not take it personal. I was remarking about the incorrect spelling, although it is fair to say I did have a pop at that bus on wheels..sorry, 141.

Surely though WEN, you must accept that if you are happy to pick apart other people's work then you are fair game, do you not agree?

My words are never meant in any malice. I am just like a big soft puppy really.

Two final things. I think you should direct your poster to Louise as it appears to support my argument, and lastly, you have got my name wrong. Again!!!

Sorry, I am going to be blunt, thats why I quoted you in the previous posts, I don't wish to be 100% loyal to everything, non bias, etc, but when you spelt it without the e, then spell it with the e, that statement then becomes rather contridictory. As shown on the map, its morecambe.

Surely though WEN, you must accept that if you are happy to pick apart other people's work then you are fair game, do you not agree?

I guess you are referring to the turbostar, if you look elsewhere, most of the points I pointed out were also picked up by Mike10: (can't dig it out, but this thread may help: http://forum.uktrainz.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=2768&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=Turbostar+Review&start=25)

Correct, the spelling on the blind is WRONG. This is what Padster is trying to tell you both. You have written "Morecombe" when the correct spelling is "Morecambe" (as you have said numerous times yourself and even shown us on the below map!)

Thank you Jivebunny for pointing that out, Louise told me on Skype. Neither of us spotted it, but Padster was going on about the E which isn't suppose to be there* but never mentioned the fact that the A/O is wrong!

It is a case of its right, but its also wrong and it is also one reason why artists need clear advice to the fact it is wrong.

No he wasn't, he provided the correct spelling - "Morecambe". Louise then told him that it did not contain an "E" which firstly is incorrect, and secondly would still mean that the spelling on the blind is wrong!

Rather than let your egos take over, you could both have simply checked the correct spelling of Morecambe on the links and maps you both provided, and then taken two seconds to look at the 141 to see that there's a spelling mistake on the blind. It would have reached the same result a lot more quickly, would have saved the thread from descending into childish bickering, and would have saved you both from embarrassing yourselves.

Hopefully a mod will see all this and delete the posts which contribute nothing to the thread, including this one.

Oh god, this is just getting confusing and messy! And TBH, it does affect me as I made the sodding thing. Although, I never anticipaited that an unfinished object would cause this much agro.

Especially Harcourt that layout looks extremely good is it going to appear on the DLS?
Well here some screens from the SDJR around Radstock.

A little industrial garrat pulls some coal wagons up to the SDJR yard at radstock. The S and D main line is running just behind the line the garrat is on and of in the distance (Top left hand corner) the GWR line from Radstock to Bristol can be seen.

I can't believe people are still talking about the spelling of Morecambe/Morecombe or however it's spelled....quite frankly, such discussions do not belong in this thread. You have a PM facility, so I suggest that if you wish to continue debating over something as insignificant as the spelling of a place name, then do it via that.

My honest opinion would be that even if the real place is spelled "Morecambe" then it doesn't matter, because in the Trainz world people reserve the right to spell things however they like, because IT'S NOT REAL!!

Try and stay on topic guys, or else you may find that some members will report you (not me personally though, as I'm not that way inclined) :)

Most BVE users have been waiting for his route for 2 or 3 years now and won't be long until we can actually drive it... and I can't wait...

I was gonna say earlier, I am currently attempting to build the Old Dalby Test Track outside Melton Mowbray as a bit of a side project to the 10 I am building all at the same time. Its about 17 miles long and includes a lot of objects (Depots etc) that I can't build (gmax still taking a bit of time to get the hang of) or I can't find on the DLS. If anyone has any decent photos or detailed maps (gradients etc), it would be much appreciated if you could send me a message. Also, Lewisner... Get your sunderland and surrounding route on the DLS...

Hi Everyone great shots everyone.
Hay ikilledbambister where did you gte that Brake van behind the 08 it looks nice.
Here are a few from me.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/1971.jpg
We start in 1971 with D9003 Meld on semi fast south bound train to Kings cross.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/1976.jpg
In 1976 heading north we see D9571 Venus pulling broken down deltic 55009
The reason Venus was still green was the fact that BR didn't see any point of changing her because she was soon to be taken out of service after the 50th and final failed attempt to get the double Maybeck engine working again. Although in preserved form she runs she doesn't always work.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/1993.jpg
In 1993 We see newly built and named 50706 Miko she didn't have a Maybeck engine she had Rolls Royce Dragon Engine which was developed from the RR Griffin engine.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/1996.jpg
1996 We see Intercity Class 90 passing under a bridge just north of the Harneton Junction. The bridge carriers the 4 track main line north while the electrified line heads west to meat the WCML.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/1999.jpg
In 1999 we see a two Class 150 The nearest to the camera is sit in the bay just after arrival. While the second is on it way west.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd155/tlblade/2003.jpg
Are last image is at the terminus where we see a lone Class 156.

My Final Image is of another Loco I have done.

(this is not an attack on Rob or any other freeware creators) Tl has a point RJL when has any of your steam locos ever made it onto my or anyone elses computer via the dls? my point is who else makes these locos? SDJR 7F?, till recently, 9F, LMS Garratt , 72xx, 42xx, Taff Vale Tanks, Victor and Vulcan, LNER A1, A2, Austerity 2-8-0 and 2-10-0, B1, B12, B17, C1, C13, K3 and K4, Duke of Gloucester, the list goes on, if you don't want to buy them just shut up and don't, but don't then feel you have the right to come on here bad mouthing them, because there are pleny of people who appreciate Barn700's hard work and realise how privaleged we are to have such a nice guy producing loco's for our trainz routes. as for Freedom of speech when will people realise its freedom of speech within reason, manners are also needid.

I have noted there are some features are missing on robs models. I have noted a few problems in his 9f just like there are problems in Barn700 9f, but then again no model is perfect but where else can you get these models such as a Standard 4 or 5.

But Barn700 does a good range of UK locos yes you right that some need more work on them. But if it bugs you so much why not commission an update of the loco.
But RJL don't you think it is up to the people who want the locos the Barn700 has produced if they should buy them.

I'm saying this because I'm sick of people tacking digs at Barn700 when his locos are becoming better quality.

I think Barn 700's stuff is fantastic, it looks like what it is supposed to doesn't it? You don't see me creating stuff!

I have noted there are some features are missing on robs models. I have noted a few problems in his 9f....

Just wondering what these missing features are? I can say i've modelled my 9f's on Eastern region practice so if its features from other regions then that will of course be not be present.

Dave- that is shaping up to be a very promising Mk3 DVT. Re. the front end- I think it may help to reduce the height of the front windows slightly and introduce a deeper warning panel? Also, I think the lights and fairing could lower slightly?

Great work on the GMax front again!

Lovely shot Lielestobrat - I"m guessing Wadsley Bridge?
Nope:
- Wadsley Bridge is on a curve, 2 tracks, on an embankment nested between the semies of Grenoside and the industry of Hillsbrough.
- There's also a dual carriageway under the neighbouring steel beam bridge; the A61.

:) :hehe:

Captain Scarlet is correct. Its just a screenshot from my fictional route. The route itself is inspired from areas that do interest and inspire me though, as such I would like to think it invokes feelings of Woodhead and Sheffield areas along with Birmingham :D.

Now a few from a real route. I'll let you guess where.

f55, you might want to try a different web host: I got a pop-up when I clicked on your thumbnail. Why not try www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) ? With photobucket you can display the full size picture on here instead of posting a link or a thumbnail which hammers people with pop-ups. Just a thought.

Incidentally, if anyone is looking for a really good overall roof for a terminus station, just look for james73's Glasgow Queen Street on the DLS. It really is quite superb. I stuck two of them together side by side, and my station now resembles Liverpool Lime Street! Thanks james.
