If you don't quote the image, does anyone know what you are referring to? Quoting the image doesn't increase the amount downloaded through the internet, as you have already downloaded the image, rather than downloading the same image twice. It does take up a bit of screenspace, I agree, however.
EDIT: If we are being picy about screenshot, should signitures with images be treated differently? Same signiture? Post after post?

"Wessex Electric" There may be some point in quoting an image if it appeared on a previous page.Theres absolutely no point whatsoever in quoting it if it is on the same page.If I wanted to discuss the Mona Lisa with you, I wouldn"t need to show you a full sized image of her - I"d simply say "you know the Mona Lisa" and you"d know what I was talking about.....at least I hope so....:p P.S Trainzers are unusually smart, so if someone says "Emo, referring to your previous shot" we quickly figure out what they mean, unless we have overdosed on Grolsch!

Ok, 141s were maintained at Nevil Hill, I know that for sure, but since 142/143s have been shoved around from place to place, its hard to keep track where they all been. 144s are and still are based at Nevil Hill and any depot that can maintain 141/144s, in theory, should maintain 142s (they are essentially the same.).
EDIT: Pellet, wrong about that too, 2/3rds are based at Canton, the other 1/3 are at Bristol St Phillips Marsh
pellet

I thought they were all allocated to Canton, but some, when in Bristol get maintained at Bristol? As the 1/3rd of them are still in visit Bristol livery, yet I think now owned by ATW?
And one I thing I meant to ask, are 141s able to work in multiple with a 156? 156's can work with other pacers?

156 + Metro-pacer = yes
156 + Mint-cream/BR Blue/grey Pacer = no!
Sprinter and Pacer = yes (any sprinter, any pacer, except as 156).
The 7 that were with Wessex, are with FGW.

WEN: why not with a mint and cream? they were around at the same time, in the same area?
They were refurbished and the refurbishment included new couplings. Originally, Mint/Cream and Blue/Grey 141s had 27 way (I think)jumpers, tightlock couplings and auto-air (Nexus, whats auto-air?) brake controls.
On refurbishment, they got BSI couplers (And a new plate where the bag-pipes were), had throttle modifications and the brakes were changed to EP brakes. Thus, they became sprinter and pacer compatible. (In theory, they can work with any class of unit between 141 and 170).

In a word - CHEAT! This route is mostly based on a blank route DEM terrain by fishlipsatwork. Although it's US terrain and had HOG lines over it, I just changed the region and ignored the lines. I also raised the sea level by about 10m, as this wasn't originally coastline. It's also a fun challenge starting with the land, adding rivers, and then engineering your way through the landscape in a (hopefully) convincing way...

I did what seemed like hundreds to trim the route down for Westhaven Trams, and I'll have to do the same for Westhaven Coastal. By the time I finish the whole project, most of the original DEM will be used. This isn't one of fishlip's bigger maps fortunately...

Thx crodgers but I only let you see the (hopefully) good bits! There are still acres of empty baseboard and every so often I find a better piece of content and have to rebuild loads of stuff. For instance I discovered "Plate Girder 60' x 9' and then rebuilt every girder bridge, then the surroundings didn"t look as good as the bridge so they had to be changed..it never stops..:'(

Back from the dead.... or at least maybe. This is a complete rebuild of the 142 for Rail Simulator and as there's already one being built for TRS it seems a bit pointless to have two new models at once, but we'll see. Without plans or drawings for these units I'm going off photos and known dimensions, it won't be 100% accurate but I'm happy with it so far. The wipers and BSI coupler belong to WEN but will not be included in the final model (unless you're happy for me to use the wipers WEN? There's already a BSI coupler in RS)
This is only a test texture (an edited photo of the Hornby model in fact!)

"Barfrog" I have settled on track by "delsoft" as my standard, normally his "Track Dark Grey Ballast" and "Track Ddark Grey Ballast" and the matching types of Rusty/Weedy/Grassy track.

A VERY useful item indeed- I've taken this a stage further with chrisaw and have produced an even more useful spline range of separate girder sides in 1.8m and 2.4m heights, in grey and brown finishes with/without height warning chevrons. There's also a selection of truss and clad sections, and glass sides for footbridge walkways.

I recommend Mike 10's viaduct spacer for the deck. We are still working on the embankment range to complete the packs as the range grows, but I'll probably load the bridge sides first.
Full details of the evolution of this range can be viewed on the UK Trainz Forum.

Heres a beter idea, email me and you will have full access to my nearly complete model, its sitting on my hard drive, that hasn't been touched. You may freely distribute the object, modify the object, sell the object or claim it as your own work. (GPL licence - Yes, I believe in open content/open source).

"TMZ" those look very useful indeed, especially the plate girder with the Hazard Wasp Stripes.Another type of content I have recently "discovered" is the FMA range. I"ve waded through all 475 items and some of them (particularly the bridges and the full skirted barrier crossings) are a cut above, and I am already working out how I can use them.PS I found some girder bridges by a German guy awhile back but lost them during a PC crash. They were stunning work albeit rather grand for my area, but I think I will try to find them again.Good work TMZ...

Cheers for the comments- I've loaded the 'bridge kit sides' pack on the DLS today, it should be available later this week.
I'll load the embankment kit separately once it's ready.
What do you currently use for the bridge deck- I use Mike10's viaduct spacer?

"TMZ" I always use "Wooden Crossing Boards" spline because in real life plate girder bridges rarely have ballst on them - the weight of the ballast is a terrific strain on the bridge and causes all kinds of problems with water retention and corrosion. This bridge at Penshaw was the most challenging job on my layout. The original bridge had plate girders supported on dressed sandstone abutments. In the centre the was a pier supporting and additional double track span over the NCB lines. The pier had subsided and was strapped up with rails so I had to wrap Single Rails Rusty round it then use Elevated Bridge Support for the vertical members. Finally I built the NCB abutment from Brick Wall 25M, but this is not ideal because this was actually made of battered, sooty old bricks.http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2803/penshawbridge3hc2.jpg

Very nice lewisner- here's my offering for most 'horrendously complex bridge'- maybe we should start a separate thread! (this bridge is ballasted in reality)-
http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8832/bridge02bm2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I think the side splines would have been helpful for your overbridge, you must have used about 6 of the girders in that one, each separately raised and rotated?
Interesting choice for the deck there, I'll bear it in mind.
There are two separate concrete slab decks I've already loaded onto the DLS for my 'footbridge kit'- one with grey sides and one with green sides (kuid 283805). These match the 'lattice grid' traditional footbridge sides pack, and compudoc's specially modified 'stairs' range.
I tend to use the viaduct spacer as it is wide, so less parts are used, as in the above screenshot.

"TMZ" lol that must have been a hell of a job! Actually the Penshaw bridge only used four Plate Girders but it was touch and go.It makes it easier to adjust them by simply raising or lowering the ground level, but its still tricky. This bridge at Toward Road in Sunderland is a more common example of how I normally do it.I set the road to the right height ( in this case its on a slight uphill slope) then place the girders either side. Then I use "Stone Retaining Wall Dirty" and build the bridge box fashion. Finally I use SRD and reverse it using short sections to make the buttresses.http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/8280/towardroadbridgebw6.jpg

The trusses were by the German guy I mentioned earler, but I lost them in the sme glitch which wiped out the Route I had built it on.I know I gave the KUIDs for the trusses on the Nottinghamshire UK thread a long time ago so I may root it out and get them again when/if the DLS ever works again.....PS the supports for the span where the Rail and Road Decks diverge is "Elevated Railway Support"...

Here you are TMZ - the trusses are by "gerd" including the main one which is " bogenbr 2gf" "Quote" Heres an improved version of the viaduct.I looked in CMP for "gerd" and all his bridges are under "1gl" or "2gl".The box section girder is "2gl-Vorflutbr" and as before I"ve installed 2 and moved one to the left to make a Double Lattice, which looks pretty good I think...:p http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/7549/gcrviaduct2cw1.jpg

Just Stafford with this one , Basically portals-Stafford-portals but there will be at least 2 miles of routes either side of the station before the portals .
Most of my previous routes have been way too ambitious so I wanted to actually get one finished and released . I also used way too much reskinned content and some people only allow own use reskinning licences.
So 90% of the content has been made by myself in Gmax and the other content is available on the DLS (when it works !)
This one will be more of a set up the timetable and watch the trains go by . I'll be happy for people to integrate this into other routes or to extend it as they wish . (board height has been left at zero) :)
@ Emo your shots are always superb :) "Naughty north and the sexy south" thats out of an Adam and the Ants tune ! (showing my age!!)

"Blackwatch" according to CMP its made by Natvander.I was going to try sending it to you as a CDP but when I clicked on it, it says its a "built-in asset" so if you check your trackside objects I suppose that means you already have it? :p PPS TL Blade the reskin as DP2 looks nice but presumably you"re aware that mechanically DP2 was actually a Class 50 and had a different bodyside arrangement?

Ye I did now how that she was prototype for the class 50 because the engine from the DP 2 was put in the first class 50 (So I have put the Class 50 sounds on it) and yes you right about the body arrangement. The only thing that I can see that is different from the deltic instead of 6 windows along the side there are only 5 windows on both sides with a large vent where the sixth should be. I'm sorry to say I can't use any programs to change this because I haven't the time to learn to the moment.

"TLBlade" From memory DP2 had a large air intake or radiator panel in the style of a Class 37 or 40, which is a far more significant difference than the number of bodyside windows.I"ve a number of books on the diesel prototypes, and I"ll check to confirm this...:p

Hi Isaac
Just to put the record straight, nothing barrels through Sheffield as the line speeds are too slow. To my knowledge there are not and never have been through trains, everything stops. The track in question is usually used by Sheffield to Nottingham trains, which travel from Nottingham and terminate for quite a while for cleaning purposes and then set off back to Nottingham. We also run in opposite directions to the USA by the way.
The 'Sheffield' layout is a brilliant route by Captain Scarlet and all UK Trainzers should have it.

I didn't say it wasn't Mk.2 stock!
Pikkabird's mk.2 stock replaced Auran's, but now Peter Hicks is working on some new ones (as shown in two of my screenies a few weeks ago) which has proper windows and interior etc, and is 100% accurate as far as I can ascertain. However, it's still being worked on. Myself and Nexusdj created absolutely loads of mk.2 reskins (using Pikkabird's mk.2 base), and most of mine are on the DLS. Some of the mk.2 reskins that Nexus did can be found on his excellent site here - http://skodatrainz.co.uk/8.html and he's also got some on the DLS too :)
There's a distinct possibility that all of my skins that I did for Pikkabird's mk.2 will be moved on to Peter Hick's new mk.2's, and that the new versions of each reskin will then be uploaded to the DLS, and in turn will replace the reskins I've done on Pikka's mk.2. As for Mk.1 stock, I'm still reskinning Pikkabird's ones, and I don't think there's any new ones being worked on (Pikka's are more than good enough though IMHO)

The skirt does look a little chunky too (that immediately stood out at me), the other thing is what I would call the "horse shoe cab"! it should be slightly curved across the front and certaintly isn't just raked back.
Oh and wheres the rear lights?
Edit: Studying it more closely, I am not actually happy with the body side profile either, it looks a little too curved upto the window line. Peter, if you need photos, I'll happily take some of the electrostars we have, they are quite simliar.
