As long as the steam engine (or it's tender) is industry compatible, then it can be refilled by anything that can produce coal or water. This can also have the opposite effect, so if you use a steam engine on a powerstation, it may unload the steam engine/tender!

Darth,
Good Question. I find there to be little choice for water tanks and coal chutes in Trainz. Especially for smaller railroads or branch lines as found in the steam era in the USA. There is a NYC water tank but I don't think it is interactive, but I prefer it that way. Just add a LARS CDK track along side and you can program it to fill your tender. I also like the CNR Coaling Tower (Stratford) kuid2:87145:28055:1. BenDorsey has made a bunch of coaling trestles that are interesting.
Someday I'll learn how to create my own content - then I'll be contented with the content that I want.:hehe:

Hi Darth --
Sometimes it helps to download a few routes to see how others have tackled this issue.
This, for example, is the locomotive facilities on PortSwitchingCo:

and this is the ash dump on RiversideRailroad Co:

You will also find several steam depots on PortOgden&Northern.
All use a TPR LARS section of track to supply coal, water and sand.
All three routes are on the Download Station and use only dependencies on the Download Station. Guaranteed.

If the locomotive and tender are scripted correctly, they will not dump coal at power station.

huh, i just had an idea. someone should make a product called locomotive coal or tender coal or something like that. that way its different than the regular coal product and doesnt get unloaded.
