What portals are you using?

If you're useing the Iportals then I think that that's a good thing because If you set the portal to Via internet and set auto pilot on trains afer they've gone into the portal then the person on the other side won't be very happy with trains traveling around his layout on auto pilot.:hehe:

Try using the portal manager script for AI trains.....

Basically, if you put a train into a portal, that particular train is destroyed. If you have a similar train come out of the portal afterwards, then it is a new version of that train. To test this, check the number in the properties box on a train car. put it through a portal, wait for it to respawn, and the number should have changed. (number = car_whatever 1)

I have been recently working through a driver session for my Ipswich map and i discovered by accident that you can through a standard portal run an AI driven train and have it return via the same portal or another portal and retain the instructions. i have had several AI driven train drive into the portal and re appear and follow the instructions. the method i used which worked for me was to name the portals and have the AI driver drive to the portal and have the instructions for coming back out included after the portal icon. if you need more assistance i am happy to help just let me know what you need.

I tested the portals on the Auranshire 2006 beta. It was quite possible to set up a train with "drive to" commands that entered one portal, then was emitted from another portal.

The AI retained its instructions, so it was possible to have a continuous "background activity", I think these were the iPortals which can transfer the train - rahter than "re-create".

Hey, you meant to add a NOT in. :hehe:

But anyway, you can set up iPortals on your layout to only transfer trains to other iPortals on your layout. I did that, but they went on autopilot and I couldn't stop it!:p
