View Full Version : Can I get real track layout plans for London Euston? (UK)

Firstly, hello, I'm new here - I've had TRS2004 for a few months now (possibly will upgrade to 2006 soon).

Route building is probably my biggest interest and consequently I've been experimenting with various layouts and trying to get the hang of things. Imaginary layouts are quite fun, but I've also been trying to build a more realistic route, based on a theoretical high-speed line from London (UK) to Birmingham International and beyond to Manchester.

Apart from the length of the route is proving frustrating and time-consuming, I'm planning to interface my imaginary route with the conventional network (around Watford Junction if you're familiar). This brings me to my question (eventually!)...

I have a rail atlas which I use in conjuction with road and OS maps, but I really need an accurate and detailed track plan for London Euston station and the first few miles out of London. Does anybody have such a thing or can suggest where I can find such a thing. Google has yielded nothing, except Network Rail's diagram of the station for passengers and a few photos. The aerial photos I've found aren't clear enough either.

Any suggestions, or am I aiming too high for my first layout attempt?

Thanks and Happy Christmas. :)

Thanks, although Yahoo Maps (UK) only shows a single line for railways, as far as I can see; so not what I'm looking for. Need the detail of the track layout.

Why not google maps or live maps. live maps can be reached by typing www.live.com (http://www.live.com) in the address bar and select maps. Or you can type in www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and type in Google maps and it should pop right up. (hint live maps gives you a clearer image)

this will help

http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/planningportal/PcsMapIdentify?%20returnPage=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Epc s%2Eplanningportal<br%20/>%2Egov%2Euk%2Fpcsportal%2FMapReturnRect.asp&selectMode=1&id=2&digest=fst4

just keep zooming into the area your looking for, as long as the track is not underground this will be very useful
