merging route with a problem

I was wanting to know how to remove part of my route/map. the reason is because i have made 2 routes but they overlap where they meet. i was wondering how to remove the land. these 2 routes are big and if anybody knows what i should do please respond back to me.

In Surveyor you can delete board by board, I know it is a bit tedious but I guess there is no other way.

Except merging these routes again with only the boards required.

...and after you've merged them remember to check and remake ALL your industry track connections (including stations) because TRS automatically disconnects them (a very special TRS feature). :D
