Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any of you artists would be willing to make a skin for the F40PH as in this image. It is based on the Genesis P50 or something like that. If anyone is up to it thanks in advace. If not its ok.

I guess it may not be as easy as i thought to do a skin. Perhaps someone can give me some tips on how I would go about doing this?
Thanks gang...

Oh really that would be awesome man.
I've been waiting for them and the other person that has started them (don't remember who he is) but he hasn't had time to work on them so they are not going to be done anytime soon I don't think.
If you need some pics of those let me know I can grab some from my collection or take new ones at the station...
Thanks again,
Isaacg

I can do some more for you. If I can find a good LRC style coach, I can do an LRC coach.

Well for me this is sooo perfect because these are the coaches used in New Brunswick. I'll be able to make my rte look much more to todays look this way.
BTW nice looking layout.. I've been working on mine for like 4 months so far and it's not as nice as this. Oh well i guess it comes with experience...

No problem :P. As for the VIA Coaches, I reskinned the Acela coach. Unfortunately it came out black. :'(

Will these be placed on the dls or will you provide a download link for them?

Further to this, I see in the screenshots post that you were going to edit the textures.. I find the color you used for the yellow bars are closer to the real thing that what is on the P50 loco. Just a suggestion but maybe you can keep that color in : )

I have been trying to search the DLS without success to find Via Rail blue and yellow engines and coaches. These were built in the late 1970's and I believe they were called the "empire" coaches. I have some pictures but my windows XP pop-up blocker prevents me from "inserting image" to this reply. I really liked the detailed work IsaacG did as per previous threads.........so if your listening! I have TRS2004 version so if anyone is interested it would be most appreciated since nothing comes close from the Trainz Paint shed.
Thanks:wave:

There currently aren't any "blue and yellow" coaches on the DLS, or anywhere for that matter. The cars were actually built in 1955 for CN by CC&F. There are two versions of these cars from their CN-era available on the DLS, under the user name "Magicland". One is in the original "green and black" scheme, and the other is in the later "black and white" CN paint job. I believe that someone did do a VIA re-skin of these, but it was never released.
I'm hoping to build these cars myself someday, as I want to model them in their current life as Rocky Mountaineer coaches. However, they are a long way down my "to-do" list, so hopefully someone else will come along sooner and make them.:)
Patrick
PS - I'm not sure that the name "empire" is accurate. You're not the first to use it though, as I've heard it used at least once before. I asked around about it, and no one had heard of the name - including some VIA experts and employees who worked around the cars. According to them, the cars were referred to as either "blue and yellow" cars or "ex-CN" cars.

If you mean the ones to match the f7a and b wich were just before the stainless steel colored cars, do a rolling stock search for "Via lightweight coach" these are there...
