MIN Consume

I have initially set up my MIN's ok and they work ok but they will not consume products, i put in the amount to consume but even after hours nothing has been consumed and I'm unable to deliver there again. Are there some " boxes " I'm not ticking etc ?

Yes, most probably you are not ticking the right boxes because, to be honest, the boxes are labelled very ambiguously (even for native English speakers). There are too many terms that have multiple meanings and I was confused at first too.

Can't explain it here, but I recommend you find the tutorial web site by Aussienightcrawler - it's been referred to on this Forum a number of times, and you might also locate it by Google or whatever. It has a step by step explanation of how to set up a MIN.

Once you learn the steps, it is very easy.

you will find a package of documentation that includes a tutorial about LARS, ProtoLARS and Multiple Industry New.

If you don't get the configurations quite right you can be waiting for hours, and days, and ... .

Thanks guys, I've looked at both sites and my MIN is set up exactly as they say but still it will not consume goods that are dropped off, I've changed the MIN for another and started again but same result. I have no idea why it will not work ?

Its the MIN New, at this one its all unload and I have 6 products as follows :

10w50 grade oil drums.......4ft pallet wagon
Fertiliser bag pallet...........4ft pallet wagon
Diesel Fuel......................Tanker "BP" (old logo )
General Goods.................VAA Van Railfreight red/grey
Bricks on pallet................Bogie Bolster Flat Wagon
Pallet of stockfeed bags....Cov AB Van (BR brown)

None of these will consume the product when its dropped off

I found with the MIN that not all products will work!
and then you have to assign a car to em and what not
but for my needs I found that MIN wasnt quite right what I needed
and switched to using the LARS system which works 100% and I am using
2006 SP1 and also found that I wanted other products that were not
already configured with any LARS and so a little clone and re-congfiguring
a BI1 industry my goal was satisfied 100%.......

Hi Dave --

I've found exactly the opposite - if the MIN and rolling stock are configured correctly, the MIN will always work with all products.

I've set up a little test track and session with MIN, locomotive and your rolling stock (except I couldn't find the "Cov AB Van (BR brown)" so I used another "4ft pallet wagon" instead - and I hope I got the correct version of this because there are two on the Download Station.

You will find that the freight cars will load between the first pair of wooden blocks and unload between the second pair.

Make sure you have all the dependencies - I used the Black Screen of Death followed by TrainzObjectz.

Also neither pick up three of the products - the oil drums, fertiliser and stockfeed. I had to download those manually.

yeah impressed, thanks. I think I've got it sorted now but will let you know if I hit more problems. Many thnks for taking the time to help could not have got there without you.

Just interested because I've become a fan of MINs recently.

In the end, exactly why wasn't your MIN working originally? Just missing dependencies in the rail-cars or something else?
