Hi all,

I was wondering if there's any good underground mainline stations? Ones similiar to Penn Station (NYC), Grand Central station (NYC), and Back Bay station (Boston), comes to mind. My stations need to be 500m long to accomodate 12 - 16 car Amtrak Clocker trains which will be the longest passenger trains in my planned route. I saw a few subway stations that look nice, but they're only 100m or 150m long and don't snap to each other to make a 500m subway station that I need. In addition these subway stations don't accomodate catennary plus the pantographs of electric locos.

A video of a long Amtrak Clocker train:

Basically, I need to know the following:

1. Any stations that are 500 meters long (splines and passenger enabled if possible)?
2. Any underground or subway stations that are 500 meters long or can be extended that long (splines and passenger enabled if possible)?
3. If not, how can I make a 500 meter long underground station?

Keep in mind these stations need to accomodate 4 tracks.

Any recommendations?

I think you may have to make one. It's not too hard to make your own, theres a 400mtr invisible station you just have to set it up below ground level.

Heres a 170 mtr 4 track one I made awhile ago .If you want I'll get a couple of shots of the top off for you so you can see how it's set up

Looks good! I was wondering if its possible to extend that station to 500 meters? I've noticed pretty much most stations don't snap to each other to make a longer station. Can your station do that? Or do we need to "spline" it or something?

Besides, I dunno how to build a station or extend existing ones by copy + paste like 3 or 4 copies of a station type and set them end to end then make them into one huge long station (and remove walls, fences, or ramps dividing each section).

Lemme know!

The station is 170mts long ( station under construction )
As the loco will usually stop at the far end of a platform to load/unload you can use 3 sections to make up 500 mtrs. One or both ends can be active joined by rail & the centre section is just there to fill the gap.

Gotcha. When do you think your station will be done? Looking forward to using it in my route. The pillars and work crews in your first picture looks great- I'd like to use that as well. Keep up the great job!

Its worth a try, Gandalf. I could use the Penn Station for a major underground hub, and the subway station concept as underground standard stations.
