Say, I've been having fun with freight trains and the only thing spoiling it are those horrible bogies/trucks/wheels on the boxcars and tankers alike. Can anyone teach me how to replace these on a large scale (like instead of replacing them one by one).

Here's my theory.

BoxcarA, BoxcarB and TankerC both use bogieA, which is fantastically ugly.

CPflatcar uses bogieB, which looks pretty nice.

Assuming A,B,C refer to bogieA's kuid in their config files, can we just replace bogieA with bogieB and use bogieA's kuid number on bogieB?

Thanks to all.

Yes you can but it's different for 04 than for 06.

Which are you?

I can't say I'm very please with the response. :(

Anyway, I scourged the search engines and came up with this:

http://www.worldoftrainz.com/Pages/Tutorials_TRS2006/TRS2006TruckReplacement.htm

I can't make head or tails out of it (no, seriously), although I know that the first method is a rough idea what I want to do. Can someone explain?

EDIT---
Update, I've found a pretty nice bogie here ( http://razorbackrailway.com/forums/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=358 ), and I want to replace all those ugly ones with this. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. :)

Hi,

On my website there is a tutorial on how to add products to a boxcar, to make it industry enabled, it also shows how to change the 'ugly' default bogies.

You can change the kuid of the bogies to whatever ones you want to use.

Follow the links in the main menu to the tutorials, then the last tutorial, Add Products to a Boxcar, just skip what you don't need to the 4th last paragraph, above the config-bogies.jpg image.
