Consist numbers

when you put a (say a log car ) on the track it given a consist # on the map. Is there anyway that could changed to the # of the log car. I do a lot of shunting and I have to go to the map find out what the consist # is tnen find the car # is to send a driver to pick up car. With new routes I put about 50 cars on the layout to see if there anything misted alined or just not hooked up or no path.

If this is the case (track continuity testing), you could try placing temporary trackmarks and tell the driver to drive to the trackmarks. The moment the loco moves, you know you're good on that path.

Thanks I'll do that. I like shunting and this give me away to check out the layout. I hoped there would be a way to do it.
