I don't like the bogies of the built-in US-freigthcars. That's why I replaced them with the following bogies:
Baby Ruth High Cube Boxcar kuid 86105:50003
Co-op Bulk hopper kuid 45681:50001
GAT-X oil tanker kuid 45681:50001
IC 4 bay hopper kuid 45681:50001
IC 4 bay hopper loaded kuid 45681:50001
Pen Salt GATX tanker kuid 86105:50003
PRR FM flat car kuid 45681:50001
PRR 40' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
PRR 50' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
PRR 60' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
3dtcar kuid 86105:50003
Do you have any ideas to replace the bogies of other rollingstock, or do you have better bogies for the above mentioned cars?
Regards
Swordfish

Thank you colin55! :)
As far as I know, the obsolete-function of built-in objects is omitted in TRS2006, but I will test it.

You're right, for 2006 you have to change every config:(, lots of work, but more realistic!
Obsoleting was much easier!

Swordfish, I wanted to do that too so I used the kuid's that you posted. I tried it on the gatx tanker and the tanker dissapeared. What did I do wrong?

GAT-X oil tanker kuid 45681:50001
This is the one he talks about. I don't see why the whole tanker should dissapear just because the bogie kuid was changed.
These are the others he changed
Baby Ruth High Cube Boxcar kuid 86105:50003
Co-op Bulk hopper kuid 45681:50001
GAT-X oil tanker kuid 45681:50001
IC 4 bay hopper kuid 45681:50001
IC 4 bay hopper loaded kuid 45681:50001
Pen Salt GATX tanker kuid 86105:50003
PRR FM flat car kuid 45681:50001
PRR 40' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
PRR 50' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
PRR 60' boxcar kuid 45681:50001
3dtcar kuid 86105:50003

The built-in tanker I mentioned is "GATX oiltanker" kuid:-3:10035. I' m working with TRS2007, that is the German version of TRS2006.
The changend part of the config.txt after inserting the new bogie:
name "GATX Oil Tanker"
mass 14000
company "Oily Rag & Co"
bogey <kuid:45681:50001>
kind "traincar"
enginespec <kuid:-1:42004201>
script "GATX_oilco"
clas@Sardon
If it was the above mentioned tanker you changed the bogie, you can revert it to the original by right-clicking it in CMP, then select "edit" and then "revert to the original". :)

No it was the 2006version that I changed. That is probably why it didn't work. There must be some bogies that look good that I can use on my model.

Did you clone the tanker first? That's built-in, so messing with the config screws up everything.

No I didn't. I don't mess with this kind of thing hardly ever. I just wanted some better looking bogies on that gatx tanker. Guess I should keep out of there. I will try again though and do what you said.

Did you do the gatx tanker in 2006? If so, what kuid did you use? Thanks

I just edited the config.txt file of the GATX Tanker (kuid:-3:10035) to change the bogie from:
100080
TO:
<kuid:45681:50000>
saved and commited without error. Works fine. Shiny wheel surfaces and animated Timken roller bearings.

no sorry i didn't, strictly coal hoppers at the moment. They also show in saved sessions prior to bogie change.
it was mentioned earlier in this thread, clone the GATX first in content manager as it is a built in item. note the new Kuid number, do a search under that number, go into config file, open edit( i use explorer) find bogie kuid and alter. I used 58377:50053.
