Do railroads have a pattern to where they place defect detectors, such as location / distance from one another?

Hi,
I've noticed about every 15 to 20miles from one another-it also depends on what type of detector (HBD/DED/HCD) you use and if your planning on going to other territories as well.
hope this helps

I'm using the TPR detector kuid2:30671:23307:1. HBD I think.
BTW. It seems to have a problem when I program it for "Track 1" (although Track 2 works fine). The voice will only read the milepost as 0.0.
