Ok, well heres my contribution to this thread. These two screenshots don't look like much now but they're the begining of something big. I'll tell you what it is. Its cowan bank in 3 hours of work stages. The first shot is taken between Boronia Tunnels 5 and 4 on a 1 in 40 grade.

I've been testing the line from Hawkesbury river to Cowan, and its nearly perfect. (the grades and track that is) It needs the geological side done to it and i need to get rid of the temorary tunnels and replace them with good NSW tunnels.
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5042/screen005xo0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/3847/screen004jf4.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

If anyone knows of any suitable tunnels that could be used and trees and other various things in the area, could you please contact me?
Daniel:)

P.S. One track is dirty and the other is clean because the trains blow sand on the tracks on their way up to get better traction. You see that alot on heavy grades, anywhere.

@ Muliebuck. I love it.
Do you want a couple of tips? Well you obviously can't answer now so here goes:

1.Usually if a branch line has been derelict for a while weeds will be poping on the actual track and extremely close to it. So i would add some more weeds and gras around.
e.g:
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/464/screen191fp0.jpg (http://imageshack.us/)

2.With the straight sections, try to make the line un even with dips in the track and put waves in the track.
e.g:
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/6349/screen004li4.jpg (http://imageshack.us/)

3.Make the trees un even so that one might be close but others are far and so on. I've never seen a straight row of native growing trees;)

Just some points, apart from that, it is a masterpeice:D
Cheers,
Daniel

Some early screenshots from a medium sized yard I've been working on, tentatively titled Casuarina Junction. Still much work needs to be done to it, but I think its slowly coming together. There are two entrances / exits from this yard. One is a double-track, the other is a single track. This route was built within TRS2006 + SP1, and uses both custom and third party content. At present, it is not set in any particular place, as no speed boards or signals have been placed, allowing for maximum customisation for any particular state of australia to use this route.

Based on its medium size, I recommend it be used as an 'edge of town' yard complex, as it is too large for a 'rural' setting, but too scrubby for a yard situated well within a town. I hope you enjoy the screenshots, and more will be forthcoming as this route progresses.

Casuarina Junction, at the southern extremity, looking towards the north, with sidings spurred off to the right.

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/8933/screen001dv0.jpg

This old trackbed was once a rail spur line servicing the nearby factories, but it was closed due to lack of rail usage, and the points and rail have been lifted, but the overgrown bed remains.

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/746/screen003uk3.jpg

Once used for the storage of defective rolling stock and other railway equipment, these sidings have begun to decay and see little use. Their life is soon to come to an end, as these sidings will be lifted.

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/4558/screen004bt6.jpg

Here, we see the rail stop buffers at the end of the defective rolling stock sidings, nearly obscured by the shrubs and weeds that have grown up around them.

Out for the day, the photographer snapped this picture of what was probably once the gatekeepers house, and is still in pretty good condition, even if the old gated crossing is no more.

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9881/screen017dc7.jpg

Pausing for lunch, the photographer spotted an opportunity to photograph two NSWGR 48 class loading wheat out of Saddleback Junction Silo's.
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/9629/nswyard6ze5.jpg

It was well past lunchtime, when the 48's finished loading and checking the loaded NGXF wagons, before they radioed through to the signalman at the signal box they were requesting departure.
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/2369/nswyard7fw6.jpg

With the soft click of sliding points and the clack of the interlocking bars setting the route, the two NSWGR 48 class let fly with their horn as they notched up slowly, lifting the heavy weight from the silo track.
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/8884/nswyard8pl1.jpg

Clearing the sidings and back onto the mainline, they let fly the horns again, warning any drivers that they're approaching the level crossing.

Well i've been working on the Adamstown to Belmont line in NSW, and its basically complete. These shots were taken a couple of moments before on a test run of a session.

A 20 class (AD602000's reskined by me, poor job of it i did) leaves Adamstown station ready for the climb to the Fernleigh tunnel.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q76/3830/A-B1.jpg

The next shot is of Burwood colliery. The site of the colliery is now under houses and basically forgotten.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q76/3830/A-B2.jpg

This shot is looking south from Redhead station looking towards Belmont. (this section is very new and only completed in the last couple of days.)
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q76/3830/A-B3.jpg

The last shot is looking from Belmont station to the coaling sidings that used to be there. (this is the most correct section of line and scenery. I'm guessing though:D)
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q76/3830/A-B4.jpg

The whole line is industry enabled and it has a base session and i'm working on some AI driver sessions.

Pete

thanks for the compliments on the route.

to answer the question no its not released yet needs a little more work. its not a full route its only a couple of baseboards long its one of those you could add into an existing map. its basically a passing loop and freight siding. and a smallish town, with the working names Jacaranda Flats.

Cheers guys - I had been wondering - we live and we learn, don't we? :) Anyway, here's a little something of my own I've been working on (the route, not the loco's - I wish!)

MA Class Tasmanian Steamer has been brought to Queensland, for a special event...running a steamfan special along an old branchline, she sure puts on a fine show for the railfans onboard, and those of the public watching her. Alas, the QR Evan's class wagons were unavailable, so a set of stainless steel SX cars was substituted.

Held at the signal, the MA awaits the RM to pass, before continuing on her way.

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/9388/screen014cc4.jpg

Passing over the level crossing into the last stretch, the MA gives a piercing whistle, to announce her arrival, bringing locals and railfans alike, to witness this once in a lifetime event!

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/3249/screen015vf0.jpg

Pulling into the station, the MA comes to a stop. Here, the passengers on the trip will detrain for a lovely lunch at the local pub, whilst the train crews service the MA and prepare her for the return trip!

@Raichase, they already have an option for PacNat or FreightCorp. The 90s certainly have that option.

Heres a "working progress" shot of my line from Denman to Sandy Hollow. I guess its for my own personal use.

OK. No one has posted for a long time here so i thought it was time to post again.

My shots are from a Newcastle (Hexham-Newcastle too) to Gosford line I made at the turn of the century:D using a road map and a ruler. But last night I was bored so I ran an Intermodal (empty) train with C505 and two NRs.

The train seen leaving Sandgate heading towards Warabrook.

Next shot is seen at Teralba

Last shot is a place that to all people who know about the short north know as "Hawkemount". Its basically is a steep grade between Awaba and Dora Creek.

Well the new version of this route should be a million times better;) and i ihave to admit, my line looks so terrible I might vomit:d

Here's a few from the Bushmill Valley Railway (NSW based layout). Forgive me for the quality of the 'shots' but I am doing the best I can with the resources that I have (the rest of the upgrades for my computer are some time off due to lack of finances).

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h232/Demon1987/Bushmill%20Valley%20Railway/Trainz00003.jpg

R727 (on a short term lease) is about to depart Greenwood on a trial run on the Bushmill Branch.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h232/Demon1987/Bushmill%20Valley%20Railway/Trainz00010.jpg

This time the R is on a loaded sleeper train for Sandy Flats, which is the first station on the Bushmill Branch. HPC401 can be seen in the Railmotor siding betwen duties.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h232/Demon1987/Bushmill%20Valley%20Railway/Trainz00029.jpg

Now the R is crossing the bridge over Bushmill Valley itself.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h232/Demon1987/Bushmill%20Valley%20Railway/Trainz00041.jpg

The R is arriving at Sandy Flats.

I want to acknowledge the creator (can't think of who it was off the top of my head) of the Highland Valley Layout built into TRS04/06 as I have used it as a 'Starter kit' for the Bushmill Valley Railway.

Everything has been redone using australian content (mainly NSW, but does include many others). It will be a little while before it is ready for release as I have some more retexturing and scenery to finish. Plus I might make a couple of things in 3ds Max specifically for the layout.

Cheers from the Demonlord.

I played TRS06 for a bit today. Took a down fuel train over from another crew at Wattle Creek, then took it to Karrah Bay, where a loco change and some shunting was done, then took the train on to Wadalbavale behind a 48.

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/9069/screen073zi4.th.jpg (http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen073zi4.jpg)

44212 rumbles out of Wattle Creek yard, passing the 81 and the two 48's sitting in the sheds, waiting for jobs to do. They are often assigned to trains being broken at Wattle Creek, with the majority of the consist heading SW, and the other loco taking the shorter train along the branch. However, in this case, this train will be broken at Karrah Bay instead, as no wagons need to be removed from the train here.

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/7209/screen074tl0.th.jpg (http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen074tl0.jpg)

As 44212 leaves the yard, an 81 Class arrives from Sydney with a down passenger service.

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/1843/screen075za5.th.jpg (http://img187.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen075za5.jpg)

The fuel train is stopped, just out of the yard, by the mainline down signal gantry, as the 81 rushes past. Sadly, because the 81 class is running late, it will delay our train further, because we were supposed to leave before...

...the up XPT service, on it's way to Sydney. You can see it in this shot, waiting for the 81 to clear the platform-track, so it can crossover our train, and enter Wattle Creek.

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5622/screen077um7.th.jpg (http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen077um7.jpg)

The XPT passing 44212 as it enters Wattle Creek. Perhaps time to flip through a magazine or something?

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5429/screen078zz1.th.jpg (http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen078zz1.jpg)

The back power car of the XPT obscures 44212 in this shot, but I can assure you, it's still waiting patiently to depart.

Another shot of the rear power car, showing how the XPT doesn't fit into the station properly. In the distance, 44212 is departing with the down fuel train, finally.

Our train today, while not overly interesting to look at, is fairly important to the residents of the branch, as well as the train crews! Fuel is important!

At the rear of the train, is a MHG Guards Van, number 11766. The guard is currently chilling out, watching the scenery pass by as we begin our descent.

http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/8381/screen082vx5.th.jpg (http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen082vx5.jpg)

The majority of the consist is made up of NTAF tank cars, mostly full of fuel. Even though a lot of them still carry branding from various oil companies, the tankers are currently owned by the SRA.

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/4932/screen083vj8.th.jpg (http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen083vj8.jpg)

For the Sydney - Wattle Creek - Karrah Bay leg of the journey, the train is hauled by 44212, still wearing it's old Tuscan livery. It's quite clean, currently, which is unusual.

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8494/screen084tm8.th.jpg (http://img401.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen084tm8.jpg)

Passing Karrah Bay Loco Shed, where Railmotor 402 waits (just incase 401 fails on the local service between Wattle Creek and Wadalbavale), as well as 4849.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1615/screen086mg5.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen086mg5.jpg)

After stopping in one of the yard roads, 4849 emerges from the sidings with a shunting crew to shunt the rear 4 NTAFs into Karrah Bay Fuel Siding. Seen here coupling to the MHG...

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/3671/screen087wx2.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen087wx2.jpg)

...after which, the rear 4 NTAFs and MHG are removed. The wagons to the right of the screenie are moving away from the stationary wagons to the left.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/7868/screen088vt8.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen088vt8.jpg)

Passing the train, as seen from the window of the 48 class after shunting. It's pushing the back of the train past the front half, as well as some SFS cars stored at the yard for some reason. SFS cars normally only seen on this line when the Sydney - Wadalbavale train comes down, usually behind a 442 or a 42 class, and it is taken back out again - not usually leaving cars behind. Granted, the holiday season is about to start...

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/5782/screen091sb8.th.jpg (http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen091sb8.jpg)

For some reason, there is already a tank car in the siding. Also, some (now unloaded) NLKY vans that have come up from Wadalbavale Mill. We shall have to take these vans with us on our train south. Fortunatly, the rest of the wagons at Karrah Bay are going north.

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/1841/screen092fl5.th.jpg (http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen092fl5.jpg)

With the MHG coupled to the NLKY's, we can depart from the docks.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4189/screen093ar7.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen093ar7.jpg)

Coupling the NLKY's up to the rear of the fuel train. Because they are empty, they shouldn't slow the train down much on the climb to Halley River.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4620/screen094qu2.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen094qu2.jpg)

While 4849 was shunting in the dockyard, 44212 was uncoupled from the front of the train, and is currently waiting near Karrah Bay Loco. I've changed over to 4849 now, for the rest of the trip south.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/6256/screen095ot6.th.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen095ot6.jpg)

Next station on the trip south, is Halley River, but we won't be calling there, just going straight through.

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/9103/screen102oz1.th.jpg (http://img408.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen102oz1.jpg)

The railmotor trailer in the foreground belongs to 401, which is currently running around it's "train", before making the trip back to Wattle Creek.

http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/6251/screen103tm1.th.jpg (http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen103tm1.jpg)

A cab shot of 4803 and 4812, in Wadalbavale loco. Some of you may remember that 4803 has suffered an ill mechanical history. Recently repainted into Candy livery, it won't start *again*, which will probably result in 4848 helping 4812 out of Karrah Bay with it's pickup goods train, this afternoon. Still, before 4812 can shunt the yard, we've got work to do...

http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/9303/screen104ii4.th.jpg (http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen104ii4.jpg)

Another cab shot, this one showing one of the container wagons due to be hauled north, later on this afternoon. The red signal prevents us from moving to the fuel siding, to the south of the container siding.

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/8527/screen105bg2.th.jpg (http://img263.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen105bg2.jpg)

401 finally shows up to reclaim it's trailer, and in the background, you can see the MHG on the back of the fuel train.

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5339/screen106el8.th.jpg (http://img263.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen106el8.jpg)

4949 runs light engine to the fuel siding, after I've headed into the statino building for a cuppa. I was wary relegating the loco to the shunting crew, but really needed that cuppa. 4849 must shunt the empty fuel wagons out of the siding, and put them in another siding, before pushing the full wagons in. After that, it removes the NLKY's and MHG from the train, and pushes the empty NLKY's into the sidings at the mill, just to the west. At which point, it will return with the MHG, refuel at the loco shed, and marshall up with 4812 for the journey back to Wattle Creek.

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9692/screen107es0.th.jpg (http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen107es0.jpg)

It's not to be however, as the bloke in charge of the 48 doesn't notice the catch points are still set, turning the rake of empty NTAF's into a big mess on the mill yard sidings. What a goose.

The Buildings are under the title "Small Station" by Spooney. They're real good for sydney style stations, available in brick and wood.

I wish I had the skill and patience to do that

What patience, thats 2 months of work there that is. Thats just the good part, the rest (behide us in the photo) is just track!

So you guys like the MZs, they're just re skins, if I could remodel them the buffers and couplers would be the first to go. Heres some more pics.

I got your e-mail 0099, thankyou for the tips :).

I've been working on something just tonight - the idea being it's one of those really rural branch lines in the far south/west of the state, run by only a handful of stock until it meets the mainline.

Shots taken at about 6am at Wylar yard. It's an all reverse-livery display, with 401 and 4812 in the yard! 4812 waits for the fertilliser to be unloaded from the gondola, and flour to be loaded in the louvered van, before departing with the meagre train. Freights on this line have been in steady decline, some days, only a single wagon on the train!

A small branchline, rails rusting away due to a downturn in passenger and freight movements, the small township of Sleipner lays quietly.

Some freight wagons sit idle in the yards, seemingly forgotten.

Still kept clean and tidy, the small station of Sleipner has little traffic these days.

Weeds and small bushes have started to encroach onto the gaps between the rails, and around the small goods shed.

Looking forlorn and lonely, the rail buffers surrounded by weeds, maintain their silent watch over the two dock platform tracks, the platform long since removed.

Quite often when I see screenshots as superb as what Nat is posting for so many years, I still manage to get impatient and lost hopes about ever seeing it. But due to some mystical, quantum theory-induced reason, I'm still eagerly awaiting his latest production. I'm sure we all know it's going to be superior to all other routes, of any country! :)

I have been noticing many, many rumours about him making it for TC - none substantiated, I would think - but who cares? Either way, it's gonna be great!

Natvander, part of the interest MAY be those folks new to Trainz who look at your screenies and your layout included in TRS06 and think 'man, I can't do that'. I think some people need to see your earlier work to realise that it's just a lot of practise.

Hopefully I can have my route ready for release eventually, so far the standard is acceptable to me. I should post more screenies, but I haven't done any whole areas yet in the new bit :P.

For those who like 'Branch Line 2C', I have been working on upgrading it to TRS2006 (not TRS04) and it will go by the name of 'Cowarie Branch' or something to that effect. Here are some screenies (that I have posted before) for those who are interested. Both are at Woroona, where I was testing some techniques for using Boobless_Ed's new trees.

http://www.victrainz.com.au/s301/stuff/stuff/screenshots/5906-woroona.jpg

I still have to do a fair bit, but it is fairly close to being done. The biggest job is going to be upgrading the gum trees to boobless_ed's trees, although I may skimp out and just do an overall replace with a tree that is fairly close to the Auran ones.

Wow nice shots there Zec! Be sure to upgrade all the signals and speed limit signs too!
I see you've retained nat's technique in ground textures and realistic use of grass, same rails etc.
This is great! So the layout will look all smooth and flowing nicely, instead of having nat's layout then a completely different layout texture later on.

Post more pics zec! Please! :)

Remember, this is just an update. I have replaced as much of the older content with suitable content, or as close as possible. Only one station is giving me trouble, that being Woroona (The station being on a bend). I will probably leave it as is for the moment, and update when I do find a better station. All trackwork and trackside object are updated though, as are all the station (Woroona now has an AJS station to add passengers to it). However, as above, tree conversions are not yet finished. Oh yes, and I may put the more modern signals in place at the siding at the south end just before the south 'terminus'. I have placed portals in as well :)

Ok. Hopefully Natvander wont take this to heart, especially as he himself said that it is very outdated.

1. All of the turn-outs/points and disgustingly tight.
2. Very few of the ground textures have been rotated.
3. The gradients are very steep and short between change, even for a branchline. (There are sections that change from 1in20 incline to 1in15 decline all within the same screen length - 500m to 1000m)
4. All of the fences have had their spline points cut which make them look very "WIN95 8bit" style.

But everyone has to start somewhere. And I know that in saying that, Natvander has learned these points along his time with Trainz, and the results show in his latest layouts.

I would really love to see Mulliebuck and Natvander work on a layout together. So far out of all the Australian themed layouts out there, these 2 gentlemen are setting the standard.

Natvander: Just downloaded a candy SRA FS coach - I think it's yours - titled 'Trial Version' in full 3d map with working windows. Do you have a brake van to go with this coach as of yet? I already have the solid sided set of SFS cars with the MHO, but I would really love to see a quality update.

Does it matter if they were rotated or not IT LOOKS REALISITC

Perhaps the CMP/DLS is missing dependencies. I do get a warning each time I load most user created maps. But from what I'm seeing, you need to zoom out a long way before the blend looks tollerable. Also all of the ground textures are at maximum scale, so they are blurry - even at the best of times.

Those kinds of grades are realistic for NSW, if you want feel free to come to Orange East forks and you will see what I mean...

Those kinds of grades are very boarder lined when you start changing from a 1in20 climb to a 1in15 descent within 1km of track - the only time you should ever attempt something of that nature is in tunnels that are 'behind the scenes'.

1in40 is about the steepest that should be used on any main line (Example: Cowan Bank), and 1in25 for branch lines. There are only very few areas left in NSW that trains regularly run on anything more steep than 1in25 grades, and I doubt anything near Orange would be any steeper than 1in50.

"disgustingly" tight? What's that supposed to mean? You need photos and some solid proof here my friend. Show us a photo of what you are talking about because I totally disagree.
I'd love to see you do a better layout than branch line 2c. I have yet to see a better textured layout in the whole 5 years of being in the trainz community.
James, i'm pretty sure you're the only one who thinks these things about the quality of this layout. Look at the detail put into the scenery. Even over the mountains there are creeks and road works etc. that you can't even see from trackside. Hardly anything was left out in this layout.

EDIT: Those yards that Nat created closely follow protoypical NSW branch line yards. The yards you posted look like they are from a mainline scene or a rather big yard. Not a branchline terminal or siding. You need to hop into your helicopter and fly over some NSW branch lines.

Can you tell me where I used 1:20 and 1:15??

I think you'll find there are many points close to as tight as those prototypically, especially those that have not been upgraded to modern standards (wouldn't say mine are ridiculous). I totally admit that the track spacing is all wrong (much too wide), however the route was created when SP1 on the first edition was just released, and track spacing was as per the in game standards back then - 4m. Much has been learnt in the following years.

I totally agree with you, Natvander. I admire your work, and the layout of 2C is very prototypical. What you just said is pretty much was I was saying to those who are comparing 2C to the modern styles.

I don't know why everyone is getting uptight about it. :o

I was asked what I thought about it, so I said what I thought. Why is my opinion - of what I class as being prototypical - wrong. It was only an opinion based of what I know and have seen.

I don't think that it is my fault that I am disappointed with the quality. I've been lucky enough to be introduced to Trainz only very recently, so I've never been around to see the early days.

Anyway. I'm more than happy to modify 2C to my preferences and enjoy it that way. It's a good layout design that (in my opinion) could do with a little titivating.

Haha. Ok. I admit it was a bit rude of me. It wasn't directed at Natvander, or anybody else - personally. 'Disgusting' just felt like the perfect word to describe them (the points/turnouts) at the time.

Flathog: I just did a little research on the grades in NSW. The steepest grades along the Main Western Line (which passes through Orange) are 1in33, and are also the steepest Mainline Grades in NSW.

The steepest Branchline grades were along the Camden Line (via Maitland) which were 1in20, but only for very short stints. The majority of steep grades were limited to 1in25.

To give you an example of what you can run on a 1in20 grade; in the steam era a train named the Camden Tram could only consist of a 20 Class tank engine, a FO suburban car and a CCA car (converted FO). This was the limit of the load on this line.

Once a year an 8 car set would be pulled to Camden for a festival, but would need three 30 Class tank engines to get it there, and only get it there very slowly.

In modern times grades are not so much of an issue for suburban electric lines because trains are only short with big power and low mass. But in places like Orange, the passing loops are reduced from 2km to 1.8km, which makes it an obvious point (to me) that grades aren't an issue.

Note: Passing loops are/were made longer in areas with steep undulations for safety.

flathog
July 10th, 2007, 03:23 AM
I realise the 1 in 15 grade is EXTREMELY steep (actually the Camden branch is (1 in 19:p)
And remember that 8 car train took 5 attempts:eek:

And the fact the grades are so long around here was so that train could pass without needing to stop and therefore improving efficiency:cool:

IMHO Branchline2c is VERY realistic in the way is has been made and constructed and what it may lack in scenery due to the lack of great custom content back in the day it makes up in what MANY routes lack which in my opinion is the most important thing, REALISM...

At the moment the plan is a continuous running style exhibition layout, much like you'd see at a model railway exhibition.

I'm basing the running style on a 1960's/1970's Victorian layout called Loch by and old friend, Keith Truman.

If anyone is a regular subscriber to the AMRM you'll find it was the feature layout a few years back.

The idea is to get a high detailed layout for beautiful screen shots.

Running wont be all that exciting as the current plan consists of only 7 junctions (15 if you include the fiddle yard behind the scenes).

Not as well as in 1024x768. It has a few minor slowdowns when loading from the cache, but after 3 seconds its smooth again. Also my monitor is only a 19 inch, so when running in 1280x1024 I find it a little difficult to read things because it's so small.

It also annoys me because it doesn't wrap fit to the screen, so it feels like you're always running in windowed mode.

Cheers man. If you could make up some more wallpaper screenies that would be tops

I need to build more of my layout yet to do that.

If Natvander doesn't mind I'd really like to overhaul Branchline 2C?

Its already being done by S301

I also have an updated version which I have passed onto a few people in the BETA stage but have recently lost due to a computer crash.

Yeah, I've done most of the work already. Mostly just need to finalise some things, and finish converting some trees. I will take some of your comments into consideration, where possible.

Both taken at Woroona.
My work on the layout doesn't include any extensions to the layout, only bringing it up to TRS06 'standards' (new trees, industries, new track, new signals, new loco depot at Woroona, portals at each end, and some slight changes to track layouts and so forth).

8231 Has been refuelled, changed crews and picked up a rake of 60 NHPH hoppers at East Gretton Yard and is now heading for Valley Coal Mine to fill the train, then back to East Gretton Power Station to unload.

I'm also running Trainz on 'NoCD' to cut out the slowdown of loading from the DVD.

What do you mean by no CD JAMEZ001? Trainz had always run without insertion of the CD once installed, unless you have purchased your copy from "Just Trains".
