Zs301 had the honor today of delivering the new ABE passenger cars to Wattle Creek for transfer to 'DLS'. The crews are always curious about where and what exactly 'DLS' is... I was lucky enough to capture a couple of photos of the train however. The consist was Zs301-15ABE-1ABE-174Z.

Zs301 sits with consist at Wadalbavale station before departing for Wattle Creek.
http://www.victrainz.com.au/s301/stuff/images/abe-delivery.jpg

The train is seen just south of Lambley. The wonderful 60KM/H speed limit imposed by the Z van makes the trip slow, and you can tell the loco is really being held back...

The ABE should be available on the DLS either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday afternoon :)

is there any accurate broad gauge locos or wagons built to run on broad gauge track available for download?

S301
November 5th, 2007, 04:52 PM
Well, the only 5ft3in gauge BG track that I know of being currently available is my own chunky mesh track. And I only know of 3 locomotives that have BG variations. These are cjlear's S and B class diesel locomotives and my own Z class steam loco. I have also released a set of bogies for the 4 and 6 wheel wagons that are on the DLS that are broad gauge, it just requires changing a kuid to make them work.

Maybe Billegulla could release broad gauge versions of his steam locos, as well as the broad gauge bogies for his E cars. I know I could do with these :P

For most of you that don't know, here's a teaser of the latest gem I've been working on lately, A QR T2300 Ballastplough from the 60's era. Hoping to keep it under 10K poly limit, shouldn't matter if it's slightly over when she's near completion .. current poly count is 7692 on all surfaces.

Hi all,

Have been having troubles with all the steam loco's that I have downloaded, the NSW 59 class, QR Beyer Garrat, SAR 400 Class Garrat and most of Subpar productions steam loco's have been having the same troubles......

when I get into driver with them, the boiler pressure is around 50 Psi, which all good enginemen know that it's impossible to opearate a steam loco on that amount, It also seems that the saftey valves are set at 50 Psi as well........

I have trs04 so all of you know.......

Any contributions will be helpful!

Helpdesk just replied,

they said that it wasn't their responsibility beacause they were custom made (ie. from the DLS),
Have tried tweaking the enginespecs, but have failed miserably......

As you are having the same problem with locos made by different people, and as others have no problems, I'd say the problem is with your system, possibly with your installation of Trainz. Try running one of the default steamers.

It's an unfinished Highland Valley remake into a more rural Australian looking climate. This is the top of the mountain with Highland Valley station in the back ground. I spent 5hrs on this layout today with 11 trains running dispatch and myself. I'm surprised at how well it worked. Everything did what it was told, there were no heavy line use and long wait times. I should really finish this and put it up on the DLS.

Not yet.
Once I get the set finished, and the Superscript is updated by Andi06, I'll release them. At this stage I have only made 2 of the 5 carriages that I plan for the 1st release. These being the BW (58ft) and round roof CW. I still have to make the AW (58ft), ABW (58ft) and a clerestory roof version of the CW. Released after this set will be the round roof AW and BW (both 58ft). I will then make the 64ft W car set (AW, BW, BW (ex AW), VFW (ex AW come BW), MT (Ex VFW, RM trailer), and ABW).

When I get up to finishing them. I need to do some mapping work, and fiddle around with the colour on the panel edges to get the WCR and Murraylander versions finished for you. There will be a number of versions released. VR/Vline set (Basically the basic loco with the basic mods done), and a set of 'modern' versions (WCR, Murraylander, CFCLA, SSR, Auscision) which will have shunters steps and ditch lights fitted. All will be scripted, with operating marker lights and I may even modify the Auran cab to better fit the B class :)

S301

It's unreleased (And won't be released). The reason for this is it is just a modified version of the TRS2006 Wadalbavale layout, to suite the testing of my own custom content a little better.

It's basically all broad gauge (5ft3in gauge) with a small amount of SG (4ft8.5in) through Wattle Creek. At Wadalbavale in that factory complex at the very end of the layout I have put a workshops style setup as well. Also put signage on a few of the loco sheds.

Mmm, thats my first thought.

0099, I usually leave 5 squares for most turnouts, to keep them realistic. Obviously some yards and branchlines you can get away with narrower turnouts, but on something a 90 class is going to use? It'd drag them out a bit.

Mmm, thats my first thought.

0099, I usually leave 5 squares for most turnouts, to keep them realistic. Obviously some yards and branchlines you can get away with narrower turnouts, but on something a 90 class is going to use? It'd drag them out a bit.

Otherwise, nice scenery, good trackside detail too.

Another very consistent way to make parallel lines and turnouts is to use the inbuilt templates.

I use 'turnout number 8' with a 'ft 10m' spacer between. Once you have set up your design, delete the spacer and replace it with normal track, and then use the straighten button. Now delete the turnout objects and replace them with tracks. You'll have a perfectly even turnout that not only looks prototypical but also works perfectly.

If anyone doesn't quite follow these directions I could make a quick guide using screen shots.

I hope not, unless they be become available on the DLS in TRS2006 versions at the same time *hint hint nudge nudge*

But I dare say it sounds more likely than a xmas bonus. There must be roughly 5 new loco's I've seen from CWS and a few DMU's along with some 20 odd different rollingstock since the last release. It does seem that it would be a perfect option to release them with Classics.

Then there's the 44 with different cab each end and the scripting issues around all that......Plus, believe it or not, I have a life as well :D Nat's working on cabs as too so just enjoy the screenies and see what happens soon. ;)

There, that's more than a couple of words :hehe::D:hehe:

Sorry, I am new here and I just have been in Sydney in Australia for some months. I live in Hurstville and I travel to school by CityRail everyday, I am not familiar with Australian railway system and Australian Trainz. I have found the Millennium, S set, and Endeavour are put into the game, are there any other CityRail trains work in TRS? I know that Tangara is available in MSTS, is it also available in TRS? And I also found out A Trainz Project for Sydney http://www.dateck.au.com/cityrailtrainzblog/cityrailblog.html

Wow, XPT 2006. I drove that very same unit out of Coffs Harbour across the bridge and around the hill heading North on the final train to Mullumbimby a few years back. Jolly good fun :D

However, I am a little concerned that you spend your Saturday evenings at 9:45pm standing at a train station when you're in Sydney. I'd probably be just heading out the door on my way to pick up some ladies at the clubs. :D

Hi Leo and welcome. That site you link to is for Roy and he has been working on his project for a couple of years now, and he is doing an excellent job. There is also a thread here for his project, I am not sure of the title but if I find it I will post again.

I do know of others doing minor sections of the CityRail but they have not been uploaded anywhere that I know of.

I like the photo, nice work.

Did some research on fotopic and founf pictures of 4524 at Cardiff Workshops with blue livery, and 4520 at Broadmeadow still taped up with aper after being painted into the blue. 80 class blue livery would be nice aswell. *Grumble grumble*

I keep falling off the watch list for this thread, and as I don't post here anymore, I have a lot of catching up to do when I do find time to visit.

Have been spending a lot of my (read nearly all) chasing real trains, as the virtual ones only go so far. I've taken plenty of photos, and learned a fair bit, which is part of the reason for doing it.

There was discussion a few pages back about an Aussie version of Trainz Classics. Being very happy with how TRS2006 is performing, and not fully understanding the whole "TC" notions (what does it offer us that TRS06 does not?), probably my main reason for purchasing it would depend on any CWS content that would be in it.

I would be very unlikely to buy it if it breaks current TRS06 items released under the CWS tag, or by our own Pete (ad602000). As I don't roam these forums much (at all really, just this thread), if anyone has a link to some information about it I would really appreciate it.

Been out of Trainz for a while, but seeing everyones screenshots is quite inspiring.

Thanks guys, always a reward to read this thread and see all the nice screenies from around Australia :).

Today saw the final testing of the QB well wagon, and then the delivery run. Well, what is hoped to be the delivery run...
The train ran with Zs301 at the head from the ZR workshops to Wattle Creek, then on the SG with Ke199 at the head. Due to the unavailability of any other bogie guards vans, a CW van had to be used on the BG leg, and a MHG (?) van on the SG leg.

The train is seen waiting at Wadalbavale.

Now Bearcat, I know it isn't a Bedford, but the Inter is soooooo much easier to make.

Thats ok, been to so many hay stack fires over the last month averaging about 5 a week, just happy to see a good running grass fire, would even be happy to see a nice crown fire just for something diff.

International Acco, an Aussie icon! much better than a bedford anyway. the Petrol V8s coupled to the Alison Autos in thsoe things are awesome, they sound great and go quick!

Not the ones I drive! Slow to start from cold and quickly lose momentum on hills. And for some reason you feel like you're doing 20 more than you really are.

Quick! We can escape them by driving onto the back of Zec's car transporters! :p

Btw, that T is looking better every time Zec, or is just the lighting?

Probably just the lighting, as it isn't mine. It's a beta that was given to me :P

5910 and 3820 cross Porter Bridge as they approach John-Ross Halt

After the short stop-over and change of engines 3801 and 3813 are almost at the end of their slow battle up Cowarie Bank.

With the 1 in 100 year flood level fast approaching the Driver of an Endeavour waits at the Distant signal for clearance from the station to proceed across the bridge which could at any-time be engulfed in water.

http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/3172/rain1du9.jpg

The photographer hopes to get across to the otherside of the bridge, these hopes were soon gone...

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6053/rain2hl0.jpg

After being spotted by a nearby farmer in his tinny and offered a lift across the river the photographer hurryingly jumps aboard and runs to a vantage point just in-time to get this photo of the train crossing the river.

Another photo courtesy of the kind farmer who also surprisingly has an interest in trains:p
