Looks very good Mitchey. If you were basing it on a particular area and I was to guess the area, I'd say it was up north. It looks to have a nice country side feel to it. Keep up the good work. I think you are going to be one of our good route builders by the looks of this.

Very nice screenies Mitchey.

A few from a fictional a friend has me tinkering with for him.

It from a small 30K loop system I am building between projects for a friend that hasn't a clue or the drive to make a route/layout. Basically its just a Coal pickup and drop off run with a few AI trains to give him some brain exercise LOL.

Lenice: Sorry, this one's TRS2006 but most content used is included in TRS2004 or is on the DLS, so it should still probably work if you just deleted the missing assests, of which there would be very few. But in saying this, a few bridges and bridge abuttments would need to be replaced. I will try and keep TRS2006 built-in content to a minimum for you but I still have plans for a large bridge which would use 06 built-in content, but could easily be replaced. (for those wondering, I think the bridge will look similar to the Burdiken river bridge, and use Natvander's truss bridge spans) And thank-you for your very kind and encouraging words on my route creating skills. Thanks!

Ghosty: My general rule for building a route is 'If it inspires me, put it in!' The route actually came about when my freind was talking about her home in Mt Mee. She said when it rains, clouds come into her house, hence the rainy greyish country feel. The yard in the first screenshot was inspired by the coal yards at Gladstone and Rockhampton, and the screeny showing 4 tracks was created after seeing the track at Toowong. The route's mainline is electrified, as one day hopefully we will see the Tilt Train in Trainz. Call it preperation for that day.

Tanvaras: Thanks very much! Pleased to see that there is a good audience for my routes.

Cheers!

I just realised something...

My new Queensland route will not be compatible with TRS2004, which is very disapointing for me as the creator, but more importantly, you as the downloaders. However, I will try and re-make the route after the 06 release to be compatible with 04. I will just have to see how I go.

Thanks!

Patchy: It does look good, but sadly, I don't think I'll be able to make it. It would be hard to get my brother and sister to go along with the idea (trains are just a boring means of transport to them), and my parents would have to take time off work and stuff. Plus accomodation in wherever the train takes us, and a means of getting home... They need the Q150 Motorail too :p

There's also MaxBack.bak in the same folder and it really doesn't hurt to Save As and hit the plus button to increment the filename to a new version. I usually end up with about 10 or 12 versions of a model at various stages of development. If my most recent version fails I can step back to the version before and save a heap of rework. However, since I have been saving and then exiting Gmax, instead of saving on the way out, I rarely have a problem.

But you's know all that, right? :D:hehe:

Cheers
Davido

S301
July 3rd, 2009, 04:21 AM
Even easier way to incrementally save. Go to 'customise', then 'preferences', then to 'files', and tick 'increment on save'. Now just hit 'ctrl + s' to save, and it will save a new file with a higher number. That way you will rarely lose anything, and can go back and grab bits of meshes in 'original' form for other models if you need them.
Same goes for 3DSMax as well :)

As far as I know it is the correct size, but I think it needs to be under 30kb. I might be wrong though.

Hi Scott, could you clear your IM inbox a bit please?. :o
I tried to send you my contact details...:)...(for those who want to know).
Apparently from what I've read today some people on the forums think there shouldn't be any privacy here. However for things like this, & Project work, I KNOW :'( that there definitely NEEDS to be some privacy!.

Hey everyone.

I'm back from Caloundra. Just checked the forums and there are some great screenshots.

By the way, I'm not entirely sure, but that error message might have something to do with missing dependancies such as scripts, loads or commodities. That sometimes happens to me, especially with the BR 14xx engines, or the British Pullman coaches, these errors being a script that I hadn't downloaded yet.

Cheers,
Mitch

So frustrating, i hope there is a fix to this anytime soon.

Dreddman Nice Shot Of The Beyer Peacock Beyer Garrat Leading Centenery Diesal On A Steam Special. A Question From The Commisioner, I There A 'Paw Paw' Branchline Diesal In Trainz & If Not Can You Please Create One Because I Like Those Little Locomotives:udrool: .

A Brief History Lesson On The Garrat Locomotive

The Garratt articulated locomotive was developed by Herbert William Garratt, a British locomotive engineer who, after a career with British colonial railways, was the New South Wales Railways' Inspecting Engineer in London. He first applied for a patent on the idea in 1907, after observing articulated gun carriages.

Garratt first approached Kitson & Co., but his idea was rejected, perhaps because that company were already committed to the Kitson-Meyer, He then approached Beyer, Peacock and Company, who were only marginally more interested.

Garratt licensed the British firm of Beyer, Peacock and Company to build locomotives to his patent design. As well as producing locomotives, Beyer, Peacock developed and marketed the design, licensing it to other builders. After the original Garratt patents expired in 1928, Beyer, Peacock continued to market Garratts under its own brand, Beyer-Garratt. With continuing development and patent improvements, Beyer, Peacock maintained its leadership with the Garratt, and just under two-thirds of all Garratt locomotives (1023 of 1651) were built at Beyer, Peacock's Gorton Foundry. The remainder were constructed by a number of licensees and a small number by non-licensed builders. Garratts were built in Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, South Africa, Brazil, and Australia.

:hehe: There You Have It The Story Behind A Famous Locomotive...

he did these from pics my wife got for him from somebody's hoppers.
his intention always was to get the authors permission to upload them, but things don't alwasy go the way you want.

he was making what ghostryders is doing now, corinda to ipswich as well.
he never got past wacol to goodna.

i managed to get the disk sent to me that had his routes and other unfinished stuff he was working on.
he gave me permission to use the route parts in my big one before he left the country.

Hello All

 I Have A Question... Has Anyone Tried To Create Tasmanian Railways Steam Locomotives Like The E, A, C, CCS, Q, M, MA & H Class Of TGR.

Or Tasmania's Private Railways & Tramways Like The Mt Lyel Railway ABT, Emu Bay Railway's 4-8-0 From Dubs & Company Scotland, The Tullah Tramway, North Mt Lyell Railway & The Little Dundas Tramway.

Because On DLS There Is A Lack Of South Australian, Western Australian & Tasmanian Rolling Stock. This Would Be A Good Way To Fill A Large So called:hehe:
'Trainzed Black Hole'

If A Person With The Modeling Skills Can Help, Can You Please Contact Me By Email & We Can Talk There.......

Is there anyway to fix a damaged gmax file? For some reason all the gmax files in my work directory work except the one I want the most. It'll be the 2nd time I have lost this file if I can't get it working which is a massive shame.

The first time I lost it was because of a hdd format and missing the gmax directory. The autoback directory has nothing usuable in there at the moment so there goes that avenue.

I don't want to start it again! It was almost done twice, now it is broken again! :o

Try looking in the //gmax/autoback directory. If you've worked on it recently there may be an auto backup there.

Hey, thanks. Umm, how many hours? uh I don't know really. A year and a half - two? Ever since I've had trainz I've been building a Newcastle route. I've done it about 3 times. This is the latest one which is the best I think (the first one was a shocker haha).
It would get done if there weren't other distractions. I haven't been into trainz for a while but just started it back up. Dave and I kind of inspire each other to continue on with our projects. Am I right Dave?

I hope that when Sandy Banks to Tarin Rocks is finished it will live up to your hopes. Currently it is around 100km long now. I have just added a new station (and trackage) so a name change might be happening soon too.

Just to let everybody know that it will probably be a TS2009 only route. However I do have an unfinished shorter version still in TRS2006.

Hello Kane,

Davido has a V-Set under construction. It looks really good, but we have to be patient and all good things shall come :) Look back through the screenshots here a few pages back and you should fine some of his pics with the V-set in them. It is a great looking model David has done.

Check this page of the screenshots, post 6312 from Davido : http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=189&page=421

The NSW goods shed above, is now also available at victrainz, look in content creation announcements.

They are content with TRS2006, 81 class. All liveries are included. Candy, Bicentennial, Freight Corp. National Rail and PN liveries are on the DLS but require TRS2006.

Davido made them. He had them available to download from a link somewhere in Australian Screenshots sometime ago. He had the 620 and 720 series. They are great models.

Not sure if they work in TS04, I got them running in Ts06 and Ts09, I havent tried to load them into Ts04 since I dont use it.

Davido made them Henrypeter, I mentioned it in the post above yours to another member, somewhere back in Australian Screenshots Davido made a link to download them. David does an excellent job I must say.

Do you just have Weddin or the other 15 individual layouts that all merge to form Southlines ;) ?

Hmmm, not too sure that many large layouts have actually been done in TRS2006, have you got any of Muliebuck's layouts, they are fairly big, the NSW Pine Ridge route is one of my all time Ozzy favourites......Then of course, there are the many layouts done by Phil Skene on the DLS, they're pretty big and good for your Aussie locos and rolling stock....

There currently is one under construction but none have been released yet. Check out the link below for the blog of the creator.

The person who is making the Tangara is also creating an 86 class electric, i think it will be payware though.
