Identity fraud is such a common habit of people who have nothing better to do with their time, and with no life of their own.

If you, trainz89, suffer from a multiple personality disorder causing you to believe such rubbish then I apoligise for the harshness of this message. However, if not you need to learn to grow up and understand that we aren't blind and can see through bull****.

I would be more swung by the idea that you are the past US president George W. Bush by the way you're carrying on about something you have no idea about.

Here's a comparison you might understand; If James Bond had your imitation skills - he would have died in Dr No.

Muliebuck

Interesting - you 'claim' to be the QR Comissioner, yet your obvious lack of poise, polite discourse and rational discussion about things, let alone your obviously questionable gramatical errors, well - that I might forgive, but if you are indeed the 'comissioner' for QR, you wouldn't be posting rubbish here (most likely, wouldn't even CARE this 'forum' existed, and sure as heck, wouldn't be living in Adelaide (which I add, is a lovely state), or use mummy's and daddy's email, to send emails to people.

If anything, I think you amusing, for the obvious reasonings, and bordering on blatant out and out misrepresentation and false utterances. One last point, if I may, is WHEN last, did anyone talk of Queensland Railways, as Queensland Government Railways - hmmm - let's go back *quite* a few years shall we? Oh, wait - thats right, they dropped the 'Government' part of the railways, when they restructured into various buisness groups (Like QR National, QR Network, and others) - but well before that, were just known as Queensland Railways.

I think, this conversation, is OVER!

Hi Burntruss & Dreddman,

Burntruss nicely done. Keep this up & you will be entering the halls of fame!.

Dreddman, once again you show attention to detail, & excellent choice of scenery items to use.
You have the knack of not only 'capturing' the essence of time & space,
but powerfully portraying the very 'life' of an era.
Truly inspiring work.

A question please......seeing as how your name-dropping some
long-gone 'essences' (well stinky fragrances of fuels  :hehe: ),
would you perchance be able to do a Service Station pole-mounted faded & weathered
"Sign of the flying Red Horse" for me?. On a white circular faded pole please?.

I'm presently having a LBS*** attack, & don't recall the brand name!.

February 24th, 2009, 05:23 PM
The Vacuum Oil Company was the first oil company established in Australia. Prior to this other brands of oil based products were marketed by overseas companies through their Australian agents.

The company set up their Queen Street, Melbourne, branch in February 1895, less than 30 years after Vacuum first started operations in the US. Vacuum Oil's first salesman in Australia, Mr David Clarke, sold the company's first barrel of lubricating oil to a gold mining operation at Eaglehawk, near Bendigo, on his first day in the job.

In March 1904, Vacuum Oil was officially incorporated under Victorian Law as a proprietary company, and in 1906 the company issued Australia's first ever chart of "Recommendations to Motorists" covering about 200 makes of car.

By 1908, Vacuum was growing rapidly and merged with the Colonial Oil Co, a company marketing kerosene and motor spirit, adding to Vacuum's specialty lubricant products. In 1916, Vacuum introduced its "Plume" and "Laurel" brands to the Australian market and a year later brought its first 100 gallon, horse drawn tank wagon into service.

As motor vehicles became more popular in Australia, Vacuum expanded its operations. In 1924 Vacuum opened its first bulk petroleum products terminal at Pulpit Point in Sydney and took delivery of its first imported bulk oil products cargo, a 1.5 million gallon shipment carried from the United States by the tanker "HT Harper".

A decade later, Vacuum introduced "Ethyl", Australia's first Super grade motor spirit. Around the same time in the US, Vacuum's parent company, Vacuum Oil Inc, merged with the Standard Oil Company of New York to become Socony Vacuum, then Socony Mobil that ultimately became Mobil Corporation. Vacuum replaced the famous Plume brand name with Mobilgas in 1954.

Hi Bill & Pete,

From memory that pole-mounted sign would have been this red-circled one. Not too sure of the dimension 'though. The service station probably only had say four bowsers out the front & a diesel one off to the side.
Bete if you like I can send you a GE (Google Earth) .kml/kmz file of the streetscape view of what's left of the old service station (now a car sales yard). It's on a corner lot in Deniliquin, but there will be others along our Narrandera_Tocumwal route.

And many thanks for a look-see at these awesome graphics!.:)

Hi Bill,

Give me a couple of days & I'll find the relevant sites that apply along our route. I should be able to get some GE Streetscape shots at least, & maybe even an actual sign or equivalent.
It was illuminated, the circular steel band from memory would have been nearly a foot deep, & the perspex/plastic graphics shallow 'domes' probably protruded four or six inches from that. my guess is, that it would have had to be a minimum 20 feet up the pole, & about four to five feet in diameter.
For something like that I guess pole of some one foot lower diameter, stepping in two joins to say eight inches or more?.
But when you come to make it I'm sure you will get it 'engineered' correctly. :)
My guess is, that steel band was a shallow U_Shaped profile, to allow access to the flourescent internal lighting units, by flipping out a perspex dome. Not sure how they might have been secured, other than maybe a stainless steel constriction band of some sort?.

OK, I boast...

Had quite a few request's over the past 3 years for 3ft-6in QR tracks and until recently, I swore to myself that I would NEVER do them or attempt to update the previous one's. However, in the last few days even my own conscience proved me wrong!

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9366/36trackage.th.jpg (http://img24.imageshack.us/my.php?image=36trackage.jpg)

Also, the Auran standard 4ft8-1/2 gauge track has all been updated for the FINAL time along with some trackside scenery junk, no more overlapping in junctions and for spur line's, the transparency has been deleted which caused a lot this distortion of one line jumping above the other.

Will upload soon ... in approx 30 years from this post.

I very Interested In hurleyco (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/member.php?u=74635)'s project of a stevenson PB15 & If I can help in any way possible. This locomotive was used on my southport route since 1902 till the line closed and worked with my 1924 PB15's.

Hi, long time no talk guys....

Yer, that was just a bit of boredom with G max, to tell you the truth, Ive lost the g max file, and all I have now is a few screenshots.....

However, hope is not lost. I have recentley got my 2nd computer running, and it now works better than the family computer (lol), and I have just installed G max on it...
I might look into starting another QR model, Perhaps a High Boilered B13 (originally F class) (see Locomotives in the Tropics Vol 1, page 47),
Or perhaps an A12 or A14 (Locomotives in the Tropics, Vol. 1, Page 37)...
You never know.....

Sorry for rehashing old posts guys but haven't been in here for a while and was catching up. On a few of the screens of the 1700 with the A/C unit on the front it has a destination roller just sitting in above it (the A/C unit that is). I don't remember any having the rollers installed in that fashion. If I'm being a bit too purist let me know and I'l just go back to quietly lurking in the corner.

On another note I eagerly:mop: :mop: :mop: look forward to the release of the new rollingstock Dredd.

Dredd, do you mean like a radiator fan? I think they did. Used to clean these things inside and out so I should know but it was quite a few years ago. I'll contact some of my people and get back to you PM as soon as. These were one type of the English Electrics. There was also a 1200 class that looked fairly similar. We used to call the bull nose the 1250's......whilst I was typing that I had a flash of inspiration. I have a stack of the old ops manuals for all the old diesels out in the garage with all my Fireman to Driver training records. Unfortunately the EE's aren't amongst them but I'm sure they're there somewhere so I will keep looking Dredd, but will also contact my mates as well. Also made a HUUUUUGGGGGGEEEE find of some old plans that my Father-in-law must have given me at some stage (was a driver also, in QR for 45yrs on retirement) of some railmotors, Napier and Studebaker rail cars. These will be a bring along to a meeting for certain guys. Will pour through them for now, more detail later or anyone PM me. This is a screenshots thread after all not a waffle thread.

Why make the rest of us look like fools with this gibberish, as someone previously mentioned "This is a screenshot thread, not a waffling thread."

You are either deliberately trying to make it worse for the rest of us, the community will not stand to have this thread locked with such irresponsible and selfish nonsense.

Take it elsewhere!!!

Thanks for the comments guys, once I get all the final track pieces down would some of you mind testing it for me? Perticularly if you have good AI programming skills, because in the past I've had difficulties with trains not choosing the right path, or mass blocking junctions.

As far as I am aware all of the track, signals, levers, stations and industries are inbuilt content for TRS2006, so the meat of it should be already there for you.

To QR comedy corner.......:p
And now something completely different a Screenshot TUTORIAL!
As you all know 9well I hope you do?"...push the printscreen button on your keyboard to save a screenshot in the screenshot folder in your version of trainz What! you know something about computers and there is no screenshots folder there WELL dont panic it will be created when you take your first screen........use a image program to convert it from a tga to a jpeg ready to upload and post.
GMAX Screens (the best way to prove you made it) are just as easy!....but remember kiddies you only get one Screen simpley push the print screen button again ....then go to your image program and EDIT PASTE FROM CLIPBOARD! and save as a jpeg its that easy Kiddies.
SO REALY THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A DEVOLPMENT SCREEN!!!
Except if your computer commits suicide trainz89 dear sweet commissioner of QGR.
its unusual for someone to suddenly burst onto the scene and start creating STEAM....usually one would start with a box..followed by a pub (so one can get a beer)...and progress through the learning curve to finally attempt STEAM!
So one must wonder without anything on the DLS we suddenly have this great creator amonst us?....(gmax screen to save yourself at this stage trainz89)....or phone a friend if you have any?
I myself are quite P&s#%$ off and are sick of defending myself (I know friends not that I need to) but New evedence has come to light!!
Without a gmax mesh it is still possible to rekiud retexture rename if you try n rename the textures and text files you have trouble hhmmmmm?
in a error log you posted......(SEE we have long memories and are not all suffering CRAFT desease like Pete)
and yes you did manage a screen posts way back that none of us picked up on ....and it realy looks like Greg Cash's C17
"My QGR C17's MVHR QR C17 No.45 Was At The Same Spot 2 Hours Eailer When I Took The Screenshot & When I Took The Later Screenshot of QGR C17 No. 705 It Was 2 Hours Later At The Same Spot. The Locomotives Have The Same Mesh, Assets But They Have Different QR Running Numbers & Headboard Destinations Like No.45 Has Imbil And No.705 Has ESK."
http://www.auran.com/trainz/downloads/locomotives/kuid2_96997_763_1.jpg
and the address of the pic is the DLS!! Gregs c17 download pic!
So I bring it to your attention my friends that we have plagiarism amonst us here in OZ!
ATTENTION MODS unless trainz89 can produce proof (Gmax screens) I forward the motion he should be banned from the forums.
YOUR TURN Trainz89 we all await your response with baited breath!

It's not about winning ............
I think its more about community ethics
At first I thought I was simply standing up for myself and did'nt want this thread to degenerate to a school yard squabble.............
But you just cant go around modifying other peoples models and claiming them for yourself ........
After yesterdays remarks "I Need Permission" I had had enough and was thinking of walking away fron Trainz!
But after friends discovered that not only I but it was Greg Cash's model that was getting the Rekuid/Retexture/Rename treatment ....we had to stand up for Greg....or any other creator for that matter as you can see on the last page the texture renaming did not go well and it was still uploaded to Austrainz ? Anyway enough from me ........... I'm sure we all await a response from the person in question.
On another note I have decided to start a yahoo group where you will be able to get your hands on all my betas there will be 06/09 errors so dont come crying to me fix the errors and send me the fixes so with your help we can get all these QR beauties on the DLS ASAP!

Nice!

I'm suprised by how many people actually ended up using those platforms I made 2 years ago.

I've made a newer version which has better texturing and such with a single yellow line and i'm working on one like above. Waiting to get a copy of TS2009 thought before I put them to better use because I wanna see how realistic they can turn out. I also changed the heights to be at 1.5m as it suits the trains in Sydney better. :P

I really like the platforms, i tried to make my own version to go along with the rest of my cityrail items i've created but it didn't turn out so good. Can't wait to get my hands on the new platforms.
:D

Hurleyco

Interesting choice there Hurls...

(Highlighted)

Almost missing what you've stated there about the A12/A14. I for one had often wondered about seeing this lil gem in game myself, problem is the lack of info there is and a ton of well kep't secret meshes tucked away may allow possibly me to bring such a small wonder like this to the existance and reality of trainz, over due time ofcourse. Fair enough Hurls, you can do one too!

Now I'm no loco content creator, infact .. I'm still at the very bottom of the mountain, but seeing what others can do and have done in person and the way they go about it is an eye opening inspiration to even me and all who want to get involved to learn the ropes, hoops and hurdles of game art and design.

I never normally talk this much, so it must be time for a pic.. (Dreddy also remembers this).

http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/9720/a13x.jpg (http://img150.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a13x.jpg)

I've cut atleast 20000 polys out of a existing 40000 poly mesh, merged it with Aurans original PB15 mesh and cut a further 12000 polys, plenty of cutting to be done, then it's a matter of lining things up ... don't ask how many polys there are in the drivers to the left.

Cheers!

Hello all,

I've been away from Trainz for a while, getting back into the addiction again. I continue to be amazed at the quality of work being posted here. Thought I'd post some screenies of the Shorncliffe Branch I had been creating in 2006. Hopefully I'll import it into 2009, fine tune it then put it on the DLS.

Cheers, Kent.

Silos are built-in content in TRS06. Not sure of the name, I think 'flour mill' was it. By Natvander IIRC.

Hello Jamez001,

This may seem a trite conical, & I certainly don't wish to in fir
that this forest is in fir -ier than what may be cone-spired to be
an elliptical ecclusion.
However from close observation, it would allegedly be cone-strued
that that particular forest has been the habitat of the dredded
Cone-Shaping-Twirly-Bird of the far northern reaches of the little-known
Isle of Wong.
Mr Wong was quite happy to reside here, until one day a twitter was heard,
above a huge pile of almost denuded tweez. This had the dezired effect of
Mr Wong making twacks for far-off distant places.
And so the community of twitters were left to their own vices.

Dreddman you should be pleased to know that everything on the Yahoo site loads into trs2009 and seems to operate ok. So far I have yet to test the engine files, and performance, alas another problem froze up the computer and I will not get back to it till tomorrow. Model Train Show is on at Healesville, if we can find an open road into the Town, due to bush fire damage.

Hello David
I am pretty sure one day they will. I have had a look at Rail Simlator and they get some nice textures into game. However IMHO the game itself is crap!
What we need from Auran pretty quickly is a new version of Jet. I guess the old version has not much changed in 5 years?
Every time I think of the waste that Auran caused with Fury.. I become furious. Just a small amount of that money could have produced what we all want.
We know they are not going to change anything for Engineers. But they sure better be thinking of a major upgrade for 2010 :(
Love those 38's and would love to see the Newcastle carriages that we saw in previous screenshots.

While I love 09 to death, without the NSW signals, it just doesn't do it for me, I'm content playing 06, which has never dissapointed :)

I had the same problem when I imported my route into 09, the problem mainly being that the NSW signals would not show all clear if they were set up before a station/multiple industry, (I'm assuming you're having this problem) but i overcame the problem by deleting my stations/Industry Object where the NSW signals were set up before and replacing them. The signal glitches seem to rarely happen now as well! The only problem I'm having now is that the NSW repeater signals don't work  If you need any more help send me a PM :) !

It seems that most stuff built for 2006 runs in 2009, except steam engines.
However I see so many scripts out there particularly Andi_06 stuff.
I wonder if we could put an engine into game and as well as sellecting coal oil and water, number of passengers and things like multi textures etc. might we one day be able to sellect 2006 or 2009. This might work if textures need to change or if a new config is required?
Many are starting to understand that steam engine files need to change. I am sure their are so many smart people out there that will figure out a way around the 2009 problem with compatability.
However in the meantime I would like to see some upgrades to all your 2004 stuff, hopefully it will only be config changes.
One particularly annoying thing being the smoke effect on the Explorers in 2006. Each time I reload 2006 I lose the fix you gave me, forget where I stored it and back to sheets of shadow instead of smoke. When I make the change the loco gets saved with my kuid, and I lose it each rebuild.
However having said all that, and knowing you creative types hate going back over old stuff :D
Love all your new temptations

Thanks mate
Long winded message gets satisfactory outcome and such a simple fix too :hehe:
And of course we both are thinking along same lines, I guess? Probably better to build everything in 2009 from now on, because saves on future upgrades at least for a few years. Also those not using 2009 are offered reasons to upgrade. THe upgrade puts money in Aurans Accounts... and full circle.. the more money Auran have the better chance we have that they will build a magic new version of Jet, or ditch it and use one of the existing great engines! and back to the beginning, we should get those renders running in Trainz... see a simple decision :p

My new layout is Caboolture to Maryborough West and Maryborough/Walkers.

Cheers Patchy, have had a ball going home today but had a ball and took over 300 shots so have a lot to look through to see what models I will be tackling and did take a few of the bogies on different rolling stock and locos to model too.

apparently, someone made some 4 wheel coal hoppers with animated loads for QR people. Would anyone know who that was?

Hi Alby6,

Have you just returned from QLD?, if so:-
From the looks of that cyclone off QLD I'm sure your feeling happier to be home,
but at the same time hoping that thing (or one of it's cousins!) keeps away from Darwin!.

To all our several QLD Trainzer friends, I'm praying for safety, & a rapid return to a floodless 'normal' life.
You are not forgotten, even if the focus changes off you sometimes.

Attn Patchy, I also got some snaps of a loco up at Port Douglas way, so I may be doing this as another project too.
