I purchase the loco (building america) and had it installed. I just had to reinstall my trainz sim and when I went to install the loco again it says I need to insert a serial number. What serial number are they talking about?

I guess I didn't mean "they" literaly. I am talking about the message that says a serial number is needed. Why do I need a serial number when I have the installer and it is bought and paid for. Looks like I can't use that engine anymore---BUMMER:'(

A purchased loco usually means payware and usually requires a serial number (usually supplied with the download email link, if this is the case).
How long ago did you originally acquire this loco?
If you have lost the serial number, an email to the seller, along with your email address you used when purchasing the loco may be enough for him to find your records and reissue the serial number.

My guess is that the serial number is a one time only deal to stop people from giving it to someone else. As aradlaw says, email the seller.

I tried that but a message came up that said that he doesn't belong to any group This is bnsf50 and the only way I could find his address was to check profiles so that is what I did and got that message. I was hoping he would read this and contact me.
I know my memory is not great but can't seem to remember any serial number. If anybody knows how to contact him I would appreciate it.

Hi Don,
Although you won't see his email in his profile, you could try sending him a private message. It will allow him to contact you if you include your email address.
Cheers,

I always forget to check way up in the corner to see if I have any PM's. If you go to https://www.auran.com/planetauran/, you can search on a member's nickname and get his profile with his email address, if he's supplied it. Clem's is there.

I heard from Clem bnsf50 and this is NOT his product. Now I am at a loss because I don't know whose it is. I never anticipated this problem with it or I would have saved more of it. I have the installer. I think if I buy a product, it should be mine from then on to do with whatever I want. Having to install serial numbers is bull##$t!!!!!:( :(

Hello Don
You made a purchase from World of Trainz but you should be able to tell if the locomotive you are trying to install is from me as there are several references to World of Trainz in the screens before the serial number.
Regardless of what you think of serial numbers I will not be removing them.

Phil: I think it was from you
Clem:Where do I find the kuid?
I really liked that loco. It's called Building America, but I guess I can't use it anymore. Like I said, I have the installer but it is worthless without some serial numer.

Hi Phil Yes I am still using that but lately I have had some problems with it. Please do send it to that address and hopefuly it will work. If it does not work I will give you my hotmail address. Thanks a lot Phil. I really appreciate it. It's my fault for not keeping proper records.

Got it and using it. I can't find it in the railyard but it is working fine. Thank you very much and I'll try not to make that mistake again.
