I have exactly the same problem with Trainz Railways (uk version);

AMD Athlon 64x2
2gb RAM (128mb shared)
GEForce 6100 integrated graphics
Vista Home

Would be great if someone from Auran could help!

Thx.

Hello everyone,

The link above does not work for me - it says i don't have priveleges or admin rights.. Does it say anything useful....? Like how to get past this fatal error, or the reasons for it?

I bought TRS2006 for my old PC (Athlon 3000+) and it worked ok, but could have been better. I was really looking forward to playing it on my new PC:

AMD Athlon 64x2 6400+
8GB Ram
2x Gainward Geforce 8600GT 1gb Nvidia Bliss (SLI)
4x 1000gb Sata Raid HD's
Vista Ultimate 32bit

....and I get this damn soul destroying fatal error message that other people have been moaning about. Every other game/program runs fine, but pro evolution and battlefield dont satisfy my train driving needs.

I believe i have tried all the advice and info there is:

-dxdiag
-upgraded/downgraded from DX10 to DX9
-tried Open GL and DX modes
-tried changing all the different settings in Trainz Diag utility
-tried adding the no intro command line
-tried 3 different video card drivers - vista default, nVidia latest and nVidia beta
-uninstalling/reinstalling - different locations
-running as administrator
-changing the compatability options in properties - all combinations.
-closing all those other running applications
-the Auran service pack - with and without.
-disabling sound card
-tried running it in vista x64 but no luck
-using SLI mode, not using SLI mode
-swapping/removing ram modules (why did i do that?)

What else is there to try? I really don't want to give up. I also have failed to find any useful support on Auran's sites, so ANY futher help would be much appreciated. Thanks a heap.

Jonny

Hi everyone, thanks for your help. I got my TRS2006 working in the end, and am now happily downloading stuff and creating a dark industrial map. I don't quite know what got it working in the end, but something gave it a kick.

I am Jonny by the way, from Guildford, UK. Hope to be on here a bit more often. Just wondering, does everyone else get problems with auran's site? it always seens to be down or really slow for me. Also, I notice lots of people mentioning they are creating 'their' stretch of railway, as in where they come from. I'm thinking of doing the Waterloo<->Guildford south-east trains route, any comments?

Thanks for your help again.
Jonny.
