Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but here goes...
1. The industry has to be set up to deliver/load the item.
2. The car, (flat, box, gondola, what ever), also has to be set up to accept it. Some cars won't accept all items. You'll have to check the car.

I think that's what I wanted. I also think I did that and had the same problems. I was using a built in product to see if it would happen and it did.

Good, make sure your industry and your cars are on the same 'wave lengths', so to speak. I'm having the same trouble, finding industry and cars that work together.

Hi Mike --
This topic comes up from time to time.
If you do a search of this Forum you will find reference to a tutorial about setting up the Multi Industry.
If you want assistance in configuring freight cars to carry loads, this might help:

Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but here goes...
1. The industry has to be set up to deliver/load the item.
2. The car, (flat, box, gondola, what ever), also has to be set to except it. Some cars won't except all items. You'll have to check the car.
Accept... Not Except.
and you're right about the industries and the cars...
The car must be willing to take the load.
