As i have been busy with school, im working on a bit of everything, so progress is slowly but surely, id like to add that west coasters have something for them from this pack as well, the ex highlevel cars will be included eventually, ill try and get some of the cars not requiring scripting done over the weekend, if everything works well that is.

The west coasters will be getting a freeware mega pack. Old Amtrak Geek Zone projects that had to do with the west coast will be continued when I finish the Surfliner Route from Los Angeles Union-Ventura. There will be more information and pics on the route over winter break.

Hi all, if you have been wondering if this died, no it hasnt :), i've been working on trying to get a few of my projects done for release, For this package, i've rebuilt my St Louis Baggage car (formerly a hospital car) and have added a bunch of cool things to the texture aka chipping paint, the welding scars from the door and a few water stains. I have also been working on rebuilding my original CBQ diner as i felt it could be alot more accurate.

Enjoy the pics and more info to come!

This is my rebuilt vermonter baggage car, shes only 4k of polys, roughly 5 of these equals a typical passenger car, i think it looks alot more realistic and flexible from my previous version.

These cars look really great. So you rebuilt your Vermonter, eh? Nice. I'm glad they're low on polys now, not that it was a problem for me ;)

Dam good Job, i can't wait, it makes me want to build a "what-if" route with Amtrak trains as the main user.

jefff944
December 17th, 2006, 05:30 PM
Now heres a classic car that was most commonly on the very back of the train, it was used as a place for off duty crews to sleep, shower or just hang out, there was also baggage space. On the lake shore limited, the Baggage Dorm was used to handle New York Bound passenger's baggage, where as the full baggage car went to boston.

Heres a screenie, still needs a few vents and underbody equipment, but is fairly done!

These look absoultely awsome. They bring back memories of sitting at Princeton Junction in the early 90's watching E60s pulling the Silver Service trains and the all heritage Broadway Limited. This is the most anticipated release in my book. Keep up the great work. :D:D

I'm pretty sure he has one somewhere, however I don't think its being worked on at the moment. There is interest in such a thing, and probably when all these other cars are finished it will be worked on. :)

hey, can i make one request?
Back in the 50's and 60's ATSF had odd looking cars that allowed the train to step up from a single level passenger car to a double level car like a superliner.
do you think you can make any?

there has been one in the talks. please make your request at our forums.

i wont work on one of those until my amtrak stuff is done, than im going to do the ATSF El Capitan set. Including Coaches both step up and standard, a lounge and diners, plus Baggage Dorms with the additional roof.

I most likely do somewhere. I'll just need to dig them out of storage. Sure is a shame Amtrak got rid of most of the heritage fleet. Especially the baggage dorms and clocker coaches.

All she needs is alpha numbering and passengers, i've done both successfully so this oen will probobly be the first of the Set released.

Jefff944 asked me to demo his new Amtrak Heritage Diner, part of this Heritage package. This car is still in Beta and will probably be finished real soon.

This picture is showing off the Custom trucks he made for this car...

This Image is showing the side detail as well as the sticker on the bottom corner that would show where the car was maintained from...

This one is a side profile of this beautiful new car. This one will ride the rails very soon. :)

P.S. Also nobody ask about the Viewliner...it will see the rails at a later date. Good looking car Corey!

Dude! That's Awsome! although one question, why are the windows solid black? Do the cars have interiors? Are the prototype's like that?

jefff944
February 10th, 2007, 12:26 AM
The windows are 85 percent opaque, they are like that in real life and at night in trainz the light from the interior shines through, just like the prototype would.

Corey, did you get the reply on the AGZ website about the SP2 help? I think that I figured this out (but I haven't done any of it yet). the doors and animations have to be a seperate file and attachment points need to be utilized for attaching them.
