On January 21st, 2016, it was made official by the RBM&N that the Reading T1 #2102, the 4-8-4 that has been sitting at Port Clinton for over a decade, will return to excursion service, joining RBM&N 4-6-2 #425 and CNJ 0-6-0 #113, while possibly ushering in a new golden-age of railfan railroading. This also means that in the not-so-distant future, there will be two T1 Northerns operating in North America - Reading 2100 (which is being restored in Cleveland, Ohio) and 2102.

Here is a quote, taken from the restoration announcement on the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad Website: "The Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad has begun work on restoring no. 2102..." "...The next two years will become pivotal in the locomotive's much anticipated return to service."

The announcement continues to state details on the restoration, until it states that "Andy Muller Jr., owner and CEO of the rail company anticipates the T-1 to be operational by mid-2017."
