Just bought 22 bundle on Steam ($40) and boy what a mess.

Steam has a tab for DLC and all 6 are checked, yet nothing installed except the base game.

Look in the content store "purchased" tab and I think the bundled DLC is among all the long list of DLC Ive purchased, but figuring out what is what, especially when the names are inconsistent, is going to be a chore.

Making the game a PITA right out of the gate is not a good move, and if its technically unavoidable the knowlegebase needs and article telling buyers what to do right up front.

I found no such info. Very disappointing after all these years.

I'll second that. I had to use the Bing AI to tell me what the simc number was for the A1 tornado (it found a steam article where someone answered the question) in a sea of over 50, most of which I didn't even want. Even worse, the "complete game listing" page doesn't even have most of them (https://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php/Help:In-game_Downloading#Complete_DLC_Listing). I still have several, like some Japanese routes that I don't even want, but I'm not even going to bother installing each one to get rid of it...

I for one like to do things myself so i can understand what is going on. And if I prefer not to install one of the routes for whatever reason I don't have to. If I'm never going to run that "5th bundled route" why waste the disk space, why have it show up in my "installed routes" to overlook every time.

You have to know the codes, yeah? And it seems the wiki, which is absurdly far a field for a newcomer, has an incomplete list.

I have names for the DLC, tho different than on Steam - for one thing they arent all prepended with TRS2022 (I think, I do also have sim:xyz names, so again, who knows?)

Thanks. It works with the longer steam ones, but it doesn't work for the 3 and 4-letter simc ones, which make up most of them. I think these are the ones that came with the trainz+ steam subscription, but weren't classified as steam DLC.

The simc: xxx names are not only Steam-DLC related. We have those when we've installed content from the Content Store as well. It's annoying because there are named packages as well as those simc things making it very difficult to find content with little else to go on besides a number. As far as I'm concerned, the Content Store is an unfinished, Alpha piece of software. It's never been improved since it was thrown upon us 3 years ago if not longer.

End of this saga is that I refunded it.

I had 2 hours to decide, part of which was fiddling with this DLC nonsense.

In the end, I didn't see it being worth it.

This was TRS2022PE, so had surveyor 2.0 - nice, a definite improvement being able to freely rotate pastes and such, but not that nice (at least for the time I had with it)

The rest didn't seem any different. I have 2019PE, so I have Unified Driver/Surveyor, I don't care about Multiplayer Surveyor so S2 just isn't enough for the money for me.

If I had more time maybe I'd get hooked, but it just didn't happen in the hour or so I could actually spend fiddling with it.
