EuroSteel - an interesting demonstration using Port Switching Company

I've just uploaded a session for Port Switching Company that demonstrates the flexibility of interactive industries and freight wagons, particularly the LARS and ProtoLARS interactive tracks.

The session has a Euro theme, using a European locomotive and wagons. The locomotive is the Ralion Vossloh MaK 2000. It can be downloaded from:

http://www.trainzdepot.net/modules/download/viewcat.php?cid=22

It needs two additional dependencies from the Download Station. These will be identified by CMP, or by TrainzObjectzs, or by the Black Screen of Death.

The MaK 2000 is an interesting design and concept. For more details, see here:

http://www.richardkrol.nl/mak2000/menu.htm

A readme and maps can be found in the folder containing the session. Extracted from the readme:

"Achtung Kurt und Steffen, your orders that you must obey, but in any sequence you choose.
Refuel your locomotive.
The trailers on the flat wagons in the transfer yard are to be unloaded at the Teamsters Yard (ProtoLARS). Reload the wagons with containers in the Container Yard next to the Teamsters (ProtoLARS).
All the steel carrying wagons are to be unloaded at the central unloading point at HeavyTechIndustries (LARS).
The well wagons are to be loaded with containers at the Container Yard.
Reload the remaining flat cars with steel pipes at the Heavy Lift Terminal (LARS).
Load the red out of gauge wagons with steel plate at the Heavy Lift Terminal, unload the plate at the shed at HeavyTech (ProtoLARS) and reload with plate at Heavy Lift.
Take all the loaded wagons back to the Transfer Yard.
This should take just over an hour. Report for further orders.
Give way to the main line trains at the upper level."

Note in the route: Three yellow markers represent a LARS section of track; two ProtoLARS. Freight cars will load or unload when stationary on a LARS section. If one car in the consist has been stationary on a ProtoLARS section for one minute, all freight cars in the consist will load or unload in sequence. Right clicking on the section of track will show what it programmed to produce or consume.

Note also: Take care not to load the empty steel carrying flats with containers at the Container Yard; watch the animations on the out of gauge wagons; notch 16 is full power.

The session will probably be on the Download Station Monday. Look for this thumbnail:

Hi Phil.
Keep em coming :D
the more complicated the better, they keep us awake in the long hours.

BTW, for the 04ers without Trainsobjectz (for shame) the missing Kuids are 87589:10101 and 87589:10102.

cheers
Roy

Thanks Roy.

"Charles and Harry, Train Control here. Welcome to our little show. It should get warmer as the day progresses. Your Class 37 has been prepared, but you do need to top up the fuel tanks.

In the Transfer Yard you will find the freight wagons. Shunt the two guards vans into the loop to the east of the roundhouse. I will let you work out how you want to sort them, but I suggest getting wagons of the same type together.

The steel coil in the JSA wagons is for HeavyTechIndustries; unload at the central unloading point (LARS). Unload the car carriers at the yellow car unloading ramp on the upper level (ProtoLARS).

The hopper wagons will load coal at the Bulk Terminal (LARS), and make sure the bogey bolsters are loaded with insulated containers at Frigid Coldstore (LARS).

Return all the wagons to the Transfer Yard, with the loaded wagons in one siding and the empties in another. Make sure the guards vans are at the south end of each set of wagons.

This should take a good hour. Report back when finished.

At the upper level always give priority to the trains on the main line. Take care at the three squeeze points."

Hi
Nice one Phil.
just out of interest, has Industrail outgrown itself now or can we expect another extension?

cheers
