Coal Country 2.0 vs Coal Country HDT

Thanks Scratchy, I'll be picking up 2.0 (and I'm sure a dozen or so other things) from your store in a few days. It's a lovely route, looking forward to exploring the new sections.

Thanks Piere! Exactly what I needed to know.

Coal Country 2.0 vs Coal Country HDT

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone might know the differences in these routes. My Trainz+ Has Coal Country HDT installed. Is this the same route as Coal Country 2.0 from Jointed Rail's website? Or perhaps a version of the original Coal Country using HDT or maybe Coal Country 2.0 but with...

Does Trainz automatically backup game files in any way?

Keeping third-party CDP backups cannot be stressed enough! It can save many headaches down the road if things go haywire in your Trainz install or when you want to populate a fresh/new installation with content. I was fortunate to have a few, not all, of the Backshops assets backed up...

    Wordfence blocking access

Well, I'm admittedly a fiend/hoarder when it comes to bookmarking things, but that's how I operate. Unlike a wish list where upon revisiting the website I'd have to go one-by-one based off thumbnail pics, I can open all the pages of whatever I'm researching in 2-3 mouse clicks and whittle it...

    Wordfence blocking access

As in opening 10-ish items pages in new tabs before it blocked me so I can go over them and bookmark them for later. I gave up and had dinner and access was working again when I checked afterwards. So all is well at the moment. It was just odd as I went over all of your freeware items the...

    Wordfence blocking access

Look, I get you want to protect you site/servers and all, but this is ridiculous. I have spent (many?) hundreds of dollars on your content over the years and just bought another club car membership a few days ago. I'm trying to window shop for future purchases...there are TWENTY NINE pages of...

    Club car over?

I tend to buy a membership every few years. Seems they will still go a number of months without any club car content and then catch-up with one release, so I imagine they will show up eventually. I actually just rejoined yesterday to gain access to a page or so of assets since my last...

Help with Pip & Emma dependencies

They actually are from the Railway Series, however after Christopher Awdry took over writing the books. To the OP, your best bet is to just copy the kuid of the missing dependency and search Google. There's also the kuid index website, but that may be a subscription now if I'm not mistaken.

    Surprise problems with build 110491

Nothing to add in terms of a fix, but the game is still very much open and running when 'paused.' So as Retrorails stated, probably not a good idea to put your computer to sleep in this state.

Extremely poor internet speed from N3V

If you're referring to my post, It's not 'anti-N3V bias' 😅 The thought posed was 'Why the reflexive first culprit is Trainz?' I stated because it usually is, perhaps not sugar-coated (yes, due to their slow servers and occasional, frequent depending on the product, installer errors). Your post...

    best choice for me?

Like they say, routes like 'Middleton for Laptops' will work, but is that all that a person would want to run? Of course I can't really talk right now as I won't have a new computer capable of running Trainz for at least another month or two 😅

    best choice for me?

It really depends on user preference, I guess. If you don't care to run any detailed routes as they are intended with shadows, detailed trees, large draw distance, any rolling stock in yards, any of their fancy new graphics (PBR, HD Terrain), etc at low FPS, then sure it can work...sometimes...

Extremely poor internet speed from N3V

Probably because it usually is. Gigabit internet and anytime I would try to install my DRM-free TANE back in the day it would take multiple attempts to get it to go through, even before all the necessary subsequent updates. Not to mention their default DLS speed unless you pony up for a First...

    best choice for me?

Since nobody else is saying it, your best choice would be a new computer/laptop. You won't have much enjoyment with Trainz using integrated graphics unless you plan on running routes with nothing on them at the lowest settings.

Can I use TLR for passenger industries?

Lost my ability to give N3V the benefit of the doubt after the whole T:ANE fiasco. Would love to, and of course hope things work as expected, but been there done that. First and last Kickstarter I ever support. They actually had been doing quite well recently with transparency, communication...

    Graphics settings

That's what Vsync does, (assuming 60hz monitors) 'Half' will limit your framerate to 30 for typically a smoother experience. While you may get 41 FPS in some spots of a route with it off, they will, sometimes drastically, jump higher or lower in other sections. Vsync maintains a consistent 30...

Diesel Engines with a good view out the Window

While not necessarily prototypical in most cases (and definitely not an F7 or SD-40), anytime I just want to get a nice view of the route from the interior of a loco I'll run a switcher or two in reverse if they have a nice view out the rear windows.

Just a Warning about Russian sites

Don't believe it's allowed to share files after a site has closed down unless the creators give permission, but it's definitely good practice to save the asset downloads from third-party sites for the future just-in-case the site shuts down, as long as you have the space on your drives to store...
