Nothing to add in terms of a fix, but the game is still very much open and running when 'paused.' So as Retrorails stated, probably not a good idea to put your computer to sleep in this state.

It really depends on user preference, I guess. If you don't care to run any detailed routes as they are intended with shadows, detailed trees, large draw distance, any rolling stock in yards, any of their fancy new graphics (PBR, HD Terrain), etc at low FPS, then sure it can work...sometimes...

Since nobody else is saying it, your best choice would be a new computer/laptop. You won't have much enjoyment with Trainz using integrated graphics unless you plan on running routes with nothing on them at the lowest settings.

While not necessarily prototypical in most cases (and definitely not an F7 or SD-40), anytime I just want to get a nice view of the route from the interior of a loco I'll run a switcher or two in reverse if they have a nice view out the rear windows.

Don't believe it's allowed to share files after a site has closed down unless the creators give permission, but it's definitely good practice to save the asset downloads from third-party sites for the future just-in-case the site shuts down, as long as you have the space on your drives to store...
