Errors Lyndon Barnstable route

After seeing the 1930’s Lyndon-Barnstable route in the Trainz newsletter, I tried to download lt, but as usual it was full of errors and incompatible. Why do they commit routes to DLS full of errors?

Which version of Trainz were you attempting to load the L&B route into? If you were attempting to download the route into an incompatible version of Trainz then of course you are going to see errors.

Having been part of the team that tested this before it was uploaded, I can assure you that it isn't full of errors, and neither is any of the content.

From your comment about it being "incompatible" I would guess you are having problems because you trying to open it in an earlier version of Trainz?

It was thoroughly beta tested over time before uploading by Trainz carriage works and no errors were found.

As the person who uploaded the route and dependencies, I saw this thread and my heart sank (it's so easy to miss something out!) However, looks like it's working for most people. We deliberately uploaded in the latest version of TRS22 as Malc always wanted to go with the latest version of Trainz, both to support the game and exploit the full functionality of what's available.

The DLS route <kuid:425700:200001> 1930s Lynton and Barnstaple Railway is designed for Trainz Plus and TRS22 SP3. It has a Trainz build of 5.4 and will not load into any version other than Trainz Plus and TRS22 SP3 (or later).

Note not all the dependencies are available on the DLS some are in DLC and some are built ins from earlier versions of trainz.

An incredible route, a fitting tribute to Clam1952. I traversed the entire route looking for missing assets (red/orange cubes in the landscape) and found none.

I do not have all the DLC packages listed in the link above and my list of unknown assets is:-

All but the last of those are by Geophil so I suspect (guess) that they are artifacts from TransDEM and of no consequence. The last is by gawpo50.

PS. It must be interesting to live in the village of Lynton at the bottom of the steep slope and have to walk up to the station at the top of the slope. Perhaps a funicular could be added ?
